  What kind of site is this??

  i am new to this site and am having a hard time seeing if this is for ex-jws or jw's.

  i am an ex jw but am wondering why i have been given the staus of "newbie" a term widely used in the congregations for new comers to the "truth".

  now, if this is for people who have left and are trying to get back on their feet again, why on earth would such a variety of titles be given to members on here??

   Hello and welcome:

  been here myself less than a month you'll get a little bit of an idea soon what everyone is about. If you know Starwars saga it just ups you on the chain of command some are onery most seem very sincere.I just look at as a way to tell who has been here the longest. So I take that to mean they have been fairly decent or they would get kicked off (according to guidelines and rules) Most have been kind in replies to me They catch on quick if your a troll.

  made a thousand mile move. Desert no rain to mountains and green.

  Added 2 new children son-in-law,daughter-in-law love 'em like they are my own.

  An amazing grand-daughter, I represent that phrase if I had known Grand-kids were this much fun I would of had them first ( I like my kids she is just that cool)

  Began working out-side the home. still work at home...that part never goes away does it!!!

  Got my first car.

  bought our first house.

  grand-ma passed away

  Husband had three hospital stays and skin cancer in one year.

  a couple years ago started questioning this thing called truth.

  What effect did, being called "Brother or Sister" have on you?

  i remember a month ago, receiving a slip at my door, saying that the memorial is this coming sunday, and it was signed by an elder, saying "your brother" elder so and so.

  it was as if he and i were at the same level by writting "your brother".

  the first reaction i had, seeing "your brother", acted as if we had a special bond, with a responsibility attached to it.. do you think that being called "brother or sister" is a way of manipulating you, a way of getting more out of you?

  I didn't mind the term except( in Kh. where we were called sis , bro & last name)(outside kh) very few could remember my name or my daughters & we were called sis.Tom or little sis Tom cause they could remember hubbys name but not ours really made us feel. second place. Now it is most repulsive.

  Thanks for the photos Xena I 'll be going to Austin this summer for work training. Last summer it was in Plano. Great place also.

  Not sure of what has IG so cranky.but the pics he posted are the exception not the rule.

  Did You Know A "Bad" Elder or Circuit Overseer???

  was there ever a person that you just "knew" to be a "bad guy"?

  i knew a co. his name was [edit] angelacos.

  he loved to go into congregations and remove elders.

  The cong. I was first in the CO was really a nice man young single and ones there around a long time loved him. His talks were up building.

  Then we were visited by a "temporary"CO.& his wife but for being temp. they were there 3 years later this was in southern Az. & they came from Florida. ( do not remember his name I have a mental block about names of people that hurt me)I seen him send really strong sincere pioneer sis. to the back room in tears so after that even tho I always felt bad I had the group pick me up at home for field service so I would have as little contact with him as possible I was trying to protect myself from anything that might hurt me spiritually.( actually part of me always felt in the wrong place and I was told it was me that I was spiritually weak)

  They only stayed with one family that were financially well off. also that family participated in all the circuit & dist. assemblies.when he started helping arrange them .There were mumblings about that in the cong. The partiality really put me off.

  And his talks were always degrading someone,or dishonoring to the congregation for some reason.

  The nastiest man I've ever known was in that congregation in or out of Jws.an elder the same one above CO. stayed with.Man seriously damaged me emotionally. (makes me angry now that I am out here looking in.) I allowed him to hurt me all this time. His name I remember.Suppose I should not post it.

  I really hate that they could be hurting other sincere ones.

  I am so glad I read this thread cause even tho' I had seen some posts by jcanon.I didn't read because of a referal in another thread that didn't make him sound real cool. So now I will not even be tempted. And I choose not to I'll take this as advice from you all. Plus I am such a lousy shot you would have to be in a corner before I could hit anything.
