Thanks Jaffa I will try to find and read the book and let you know what I think about the nature of the kingdom.

The kingdom elite?
by greendawn inconsider that the kingdom of heavens is after all a body of people (who originated from the earth) and who wield political power ie it is a body of rulers with a fixed number of members.
could the jws be right in saying that there will be this ruling body, and another class that of the ruled, even though it is certainly very wrong to believe that they will live on this earth for ever and not have jesus as their mediator and the annointing of the spirit.
were the two proposed classes (1. the elite of all the elite and 2. the elite), gathered in parallel throughout christian history rather than first one and then the other as the jws claim?

ESP Proof?
by skyman inyesterday i read all the posts under the thead "i need some skeptic input... dreams that come true' by googlemagoogle.
i could not help but see that some people were very opinionated one way or the other.
most just felt it was true because they had a dream or know some one who has.

I always believed that there was a mysterious force operating beyond the physical senses and it's great that there is at last some solid scientific proof for it.
There are no doubt great mysteries regarding the brain waiting to be discovered. -

I also agree that homosexuality is due to a combination of genetic and environmental factors the first can predispose someone to the influences of the second.
However much one may not agree with this lifestyle one shouldn't be critical of it because that's simply how they are. -

Sentimental Mood
by MerryMagdalene ini've been thinking back to my j-dub childhood with a sort of sad fondness.... my great-grandfather was the first witness in the valley where he lived and ranched.
he became one after listening to rutherford's radio programs.
i have no idea why and am a bit curious.

"How long can they justify all the wrongs and explain all inconsistencies away? As long as they feel they must to protect "the family" and their eternally distant eternal futures"
I think what they want to protect is their own positions as they are nothing but power hungry (mad) old men on a never ending power trip. Contrary to what they say they don't give a fig for the flock. They will carry on lying about the glaring contradictions in their dogma as much as is necessary to keep their followers blinded and obedient.
As for their future I don't think they have one at all. -

LT, I can't recall the name of their island but they were indeed Catholic. Their names: Callum, Charlie, John, Angela. They went to the island in 1998 for their mother's funeral.

When the organization is having problems its NEVER be the fault of the WTS

They really know how to paint a bleak picture when it comes to other people but four decades later they are obviously guilty of the same faults.
They certainly produced the fruits of a false prophet, and they do nothing to help their members other than constantly pester them with what they must do. Many ruined families, suicides, dead from adhering to the anti blood tranfusion doctrine, and many people that lost out on a university education. -

"Does it praise the development of a whole, balanced personality"
This is precisely what they should be doing but they themseleves do not have well developped and balanced personalities. They are not fitted for guiding people through complex issues. So they messed up eveything and inevitably this org will (soon) perish. Good thing they never accept advice from anyone. -

Congratulations Class of 2005
by Junction-Guy inwell my cousin graduated from high school yesterday and it was a very hard time for me as it just reminds me of all the opportunities i passed up, so please jehovah's witness children, go to college and get an education, dont waste your youth slaving away for the watchtower society.
you can be anything you want to be and go anywhere you want, but a good education is needed.
you dont have to suffer financially like i did for so many years.. .

It's all smart manipulation they don't directly demand something but they get it indirectly the same with the JWs that drive to divorce their disass/disfell spouses, they create a very adverse climate for something. I also noticed how they totally ignore the benefits of further education.
Fortunately some parents ignored the cultish advice. It could also be that they don't want a lot of educated persons in the org because they can challenge their control over it. -
