Aren't those figures fictitious then, desperately trying to hault the destruction of another illusion?
If those 144000 of revelation were a literal number it would have been completed long ago, christianity has no need for the deluded JWs to come along in the 20th century to do this. As if it were possible for so many generations of christians over 2000 years not to provide that relatively small number.
If someone can believe this Rutherford utter non sense then he can believe anything stupid.

If two elders showed up at your front door
by unbeliever inand asked do you accept the faithful and distreet slave as jehovahs channel on earth (or something similar to that) what would you say/do?.
i would laugh my ass off and slam the door in their face.
this really happened to a friend of mine a long time ago.

The FDS should be a humble servant and not an arrogant self seeking one lording it over and beating spiritually and emotionally his fellow servants, in that case he is the evil servant and that's who the JWs really obey and serve.

Does the WTBTS still control your life?
by Honesty indo you follow the arrangement dictated by the governing body of jw's regarding df'd and da'd individuals?
do you shun the jw's like you are expected to by wt leaders or do you speak to jw's and greet them with a smile even if they shun you when you do so?
in complying with wtbts rules of acceptable behavior for da'd or df'd persons do you think that you are showing unconditional love to your neighbor?

Shunning is to a great extend a political weapon to be utilised against dissenters. Otherwise they have taken it to ridiculous extremes burdening people much as the Pharisees used to do instead of helping them.
Total shunning is a very unchristian and diabolical behaviour, they could have considered mild forms of shunning for certain "violations" of the protocol and many things should not come under shunning at all. -

The top echelon is certainly not honest and since they don't give the good example we can't expect their followers to be much better.
As a JW I knew honest and dishonest individuals. One of them sold knowingly a defective car to a young sister and she had to pay subtantial money to fix the problem. -

i had fully intentioned to disassociate myself from the platform today, but i decided that if i wanted a chance to save my marriage that i'd better tell my wife.

Well done for voting against them with your feet as many others have already done and no doubt many more will. It serves them right for refusing to defend their opinions in open face to face debates with their critics, especially certain extra ordinarily grandiose claims that they make about themselves. Just taking cheap shots at their opponents from the safety of their Brooklyn castle is not on.
If their position is as strong as they claim what is it that they fear so much from free debate? -

You are wising up to the darker side of the society but the elders are far too biased or afraid to accept obvious facts, and their logical conclusions, such as the ones you mention.
