My idea for mankind was always that there are a few very good people at one extreme and a few very bad at the opposite end with most somewhere in-between. Most people wouldn't go out of their way to harm you though they are often tempted by evil ideas.
Some so called worldly people are much better than the typical JW some are much worse, you choose carefully who you associate with and keep on guard so that you don't get ripped off by con artists.

Do you ever think that you will stop JW-bashing and get on with your life?
by booker-t ini was recently talking to a girl in my psychology class who told me that she use to be a jw and was df'd in the mid 1990's.
this girl shocked me because usually ex-jws are so unhappy and miserable and spend most of their time complaining about the "evil" wt society.
she told me that when she was df'd alot of ex-jws swarmed towards her trying to get her to "bash" the wt but she refused.

At the cong where I was the more normal people were the ones that didn't take too seriously the org's demands and thought of the JWs as a social club rather than a religion.

Do JWs ever use their donations/WT profits to help the less-fortunate?
by sonnyboy ini was a jw for a number of years as a kid, but i don't remember them doing anything to help the community.
many churches in my area have soup kitchens, clothing/toy drives, and other services to help people in need.
do jehovah's witnesses ever use proceeds in this way, or are they all used to make more watchtowers, books, and kingdom halls?

Sweet Tea this example from your own family shows clearly that the WTS is best understood as a business that is trying to pass itself off as a religion.
They say oh if we were a charity everyone would become JWs for the hand outs but what about those who did prove loyal and industrious to the org, like your relative she deserves some recognition, peace, and security in her old age whether the big A is near or not.
At least we can know what sort of "tree" they are from such fruitage of meanness. -

Hi you all.
by chrissy innew to the forum & simply introducing myself.
i've enjoyed reading some of the posts here.
it is so nice to know these forums exist for poor ex-jw girls that suffer from post tramatic sheltered-from-the-rest-of-the-free-world syndrome.

Hi Chrissy I m sure you will make a lot of friends here and find that this board has a good curative effect.
You will soon relise that the WTS is nothing special in the world and all their dogmas are worthless lies, they are not fit to separate the earth's population as they pretend and thus no Armageddon is near. -

Went To A Church Today
by rocketman ini've been waking up so early on sunday mornings that i finally decided to attend a church today.
it's lutheran, and a work associate invited me some time ago.
taking the risk of being uncovered as an apostate (or at least being under suspicion as one) if i'd have been seen entering or leaving the place, off i went anyway for the 8 am service.

Heathen I agree with you most religions are abusive but ultimately that's their liability on a day of reckoning, the JWs and all.
As for the Trinity I don't believe in it but I can see why others do. They innocently believe Jesus has more status than he really does but as long as they see him as the sacrificial saviour I can see no problem. -

I think all christian churches have more or less the Holy Spirit operating in them and the real question is how do they try to utilise it, in due course they will have to render account on this issue.
Doctrinal issues such as the trinity make no real difference they are just neurotic manifestations. -

I think James you got the picture being at that tender age the worst thing you can do is get involved in a high pressure high control organisation where even older people would find it very hard to cope.
It's not time for you to get into such a demanding environment, and emotional maze, but wisely enjoy your life instead of having to carry those heavy burdens. There is precious little support from anyone once you are in. -

Does the WTBTS still control your life?
by Honesty indo you follow the arrangement dictated by the governing body of jw's regarding df'd and da'd individuals?
do you shun the jw's like you are expected to by wt leaders or do you speak to jw's and greet them with a smile even if they shun you when you do so?
in complying with wtbts rules of acceptable behavior for da'd or df'd persons do you think that you are showing unconditional love to your neighbor?

"What is expected of us is clearly stated in the bible"
The question is does the WTS as an org do what is expected of it regarding biblical demands? They always pester their members with admonitions but what are their own obligatons towards the membes and do they ever carry them out?
