  Diets, Double-Cheeseburgers and Dragons (Warning: Fluff Alert)

  you know, its a very bizarre thing that happened today and i thought it best to warn you all.

  especially since some of you are fighting the battle of the bulge and dieting as am i.. you see, its been about two months since i went on this diet, and its gone along pretty well so far.

  ive managed to eliminate 22 lbs.

  Congrats for losing such a substantial amount of weight.
  
  A double cheeseburger does not convert into a pound of body fat that's obviously an absurd idea and it is in fact ideal for dieters given its relatively low calories for the protein it gives. Better avoid cookies, nuts and chocolates.
  
  Even if it is in excess of calorific needs it will add only 2 or 3 ounces of fat to the body.

  so i do not give a shit if a mod locks this thread i am drunk - on my 4th margarrittta and i mix 1 part tequilla to 1 part mixer so they are strong and one can really taste the tequilla - and i am drunk and do not give a shit - oh and by the way i am not going on field service in the morning

  Some bloody Mary's (vodka and tomato juice) are great when an escape is needed there is also plenty of vitamin A in the tomato juice, good for the eyes especially when there is eye strain from computer screens.

  hi all hows it going .

  im having problems with my boss.... i dread going to work theres always some drama ging on there hes in my business all the time personal that is... he makes comments to others about how im private stock and so on and so forth yet denies hes even doing anything wrong.

  he gets mad if i talk to others (males) at the work place and also gets upset when i get phone calls (males) ive been with the company for about 6 years i am a hard worker all see this around me yet he treats me like crap what should i do?

  You should be firm but polite to him, the jws are a destructive cult and you wouldn't want to have your life messed up by getting sacked into it. Tell him no offence meant, but you don't wish to become part of it.
  
  You will be surprised how quickly "love" evaporates when someone becomes a jw.

  What words and phrases do Brits and others see as 'American'?

  as an american, i see words such as cheerio, blimey, bloody (when referring to something negative), loo, bugger, fag (cigarette), etc.

  as chiefly british (i suppose they are).. what words and/or phrases do you consider to be chiefly american?

  i'm honestly unaware of which words i use that may not be used in other english-speaking countries.

  That Pink Floyd song apart from being a very nice piece of poetry it is also very apt for the hapless jws that got seduced by the promises of the WTS, promises that are coupled to obedience to the org which makes them slaves to its will: you must, you must, you must.... carry a heavy yoke! There is so much that is forbidden.

  You are certainly right you give your time and effort and they pay you for it and you owe them nothing, they need you (to do a necessary job) as much as you need them to employ you.
  
  I don't know what the rules are like in the USA but in the UK someone like him is guilty of harassment against the staff. You shouldn't let him think that he's got leverage over you due to age or whatever. He sounds like a very immature person.

  FMZ, a biscuit in England is a cookie in the USA, but for you a biscuit what exactly is it if not a scone? I understand it's not something dry and cruchy.

  It looks as if this guy fancies you and hotly resents you talking to other males. If you kep telling hiim not to bother you and doesn't listen and he is the top authority there then what else can you do other than tell him that you will leave for all the upset that involves? You can't be blackmailed.

  He has no right to behave like that ie harass you, and you should either be firm but polite and stand up to him or find another job.
