If I remember correctly, I just clicked all over the garbage can until it lifted to reveal the lighter.

The following are reputed to be actual statements found on insurance claim forms where car drivers attempted to summarize the details of an accident in the fewest possible words.
The instances of faulty writing serve to confirm that even incompetent writing may be highly entertaining.
· Coming home I drove into the wrong house and collided with a tree I don't have.
· The other car collided with mine without giving me warning of its intention.
· I thought my window was down, but I found it was up when I put my head through it.
· I collided with a stationary truck coming the other way.
· A pedestrian hit me and went under my car.
· The guy was all over the road. I had to swerve several times before I hit him.
· I pulled away from the side of the road, glanced at my mother in law and headed over the embankment.
· In an attempt to kill a fly, I drove into a telephone pole.
· I had been shopping for a plant all day and was on my way home. As I reached an inter-section a hedge sprang up, obscuring my vision and I did not see the other car.
· I had been driving for 40 years when I fell asleep at the wheel and had an accident.
· I was on the way to the doctor with rear end trouble when my universal joint gave way causing me to have an accident and damage my big end.
· As I approached the intersection a sign appeared in a place where no stop sign had ever appeared before. I was unable to stop in time to avoid the accident.
· To avoid hitting the bumper of the car in front I stuck a pedestrian.
· My car was legally parked as it backed into another vehicle.
· An invisible car came out of nowhere, stuck my car and vanished.
· I told the police that I was not injured, but on removing my hat I found that I had a fractured skull.
· I was sure the old fellow would never make it to the other side of the road when I struck him.
· The pedestrian had no idea which direction to run. So I ran over him.
· I saw a slow moving, sad faced old gentleman as he bounced off the roof of my car.
· The indirect cause of the accident was a little guy in a small car with a big mouth.
· I was thrown from my car as it left the road. I was later found in a ditch by some stray cows.
· The telephone pole was approaching. I was attempting to swerve out the way when I struck the front end.
· The accident was caused by me waving to the man I hit last week.
· I knocked over a man, he admitted it was his fault as he'd been knocked over before.

I finally went to CHURCH----and didn't feel guilty!
by findingme ini've was df'd over 6 years ago after spending all of my life a jw.

Thank you everyone, for your encouraging responses.
Especially you, Cicatrix! Your description of the whole experience mirrors my own. People out their really do listen, and they acknowledge the difficulty of coming out of an authoritarian religion. I actually smiled all day after going to church last week; I recalled the live music that moved me to clap and sing along and the humorous video clips they showed regarding "kindness".
For several years, I was SO afraid of opening up to people; now I don't know why I waited so long. I do become weepy sometimes when I relate my past and compare it to my present circumstances. What a difference! To think I once thought I could never find the true me.....
The grieving process isn't the same for everyone, I know. Members of my own family are taking different steps; we try to share with each other to guide each other through the process.
The best to you!

Watchtower Business Model
by little witch indid you ever wonder why the watchtower fusses over such silly and minute rules?
things like smoking, dress, music, dance, movies, language, what company you keep, what and how you celebrate?
let's consider a few factors.

Yes, it was the efficiency and minute details of the "underdog" organization that attracted my family in the first place. The hope of everlasting life was another attraction---and of serving God in a way he pleased.
I no longer believe God is concerned with little details....I believe he cares more for what is in your heart. I also believe the condition of the heart is reflected in the attitude toward other people......Respect for other human beings is extremely important.
I made the same mistake everyone else in that organization did: please other men, ie, elders, oversears, etc., as if they were the god I was worshipping.
Not any more.....

I knew I would not go back to a KH, either. So, I struggled with this dilemma of not wanting to attend a KH, yet feeling guilty for trying a different church. In the meantime, I was continually getting invites from workmates and schoolmates to "visit" their Willow Creek-associated church. I kept saying "no" because of guilt, yet I always stressed the need to associate with Christians and participate in self-help groups they organized.
What to do? I finally said "yes" and tagged along with my co-worker one Sunday. I was not prepared for the upbeat music and sermons! We actually stood and clapped....and sang along. The sermon made me laugh at times....and feel choked up at other times. The topic was regarding "kindness"....and I was completely amazed at the positive feeling I carried with me all day! What a relief....
I may not become an official member so soon....but I will certainly go back for more encouragement.
In college, we learned that religion/church is for people, not for God. God does not need religion, people do! Hence, people become involved for themselves only....and that is okay.

Your worst Watchtower Study ever?
by Celtic inwhat article was it when you were a witness that was the most complicated for you to understand?
i remember that there were a right few beaut's, dad being the wt conductor, of course we had to go through the finer detail getting to the most indepth meaning and how it linked up.
hmmmmmmm.. what was your worst watchtower study ever then?

So true, Atilla! The extra paragraphs always pissed me off, too. The conductor seemed to be on a power trip when it came to his control with the "overtime" of the Watchtower study. I doubt anyone really wanted to stay anymore than they had too..."c'mon, c'mon....let's wrap it up already..." is what I always thought.
