  Guilt over getting an old friend DF'ed

  i've been thinking about this guy i used to know when i was a jw.

  we went to school together and were in the same congregation.

  he was fading, but one day me and my dad were passing a convenience store and we saw him smoking outside.

  i just got new ink!!!!

  i got a cross with a crown across it.

  my folks would die if they saw that, but i really love it.

  was I stupid or what?

  you know, something dawned on me a while back and as i'm reading all the posts tonight, i can't stop thinking about this.. all of you guys seem like you knew for quite a while before you left that the jw's were full of crap.

  i had doubts and questions, but the reason that i left was that i just gave up.

  i knew that i was never going to be able to live up to their expectations and i just got so depressed that i quit.

  I'm so glad!!!!

  a week ago my father-in-law had a serious heart attack.

  he's been wonderful to me since my jw parents disowned me.

  he went into the hospital and had triple bypass surgery to correct the blockages, but first they had to cauterize a bleeding ulcer in his stomach.

  how dare they talk about child predators with their history of harboring them in their congregations?
