LOL Franny. Lucky you, I always wanted a chance to use that line. A friend of mine converted "nose" to "seat", that works well too.

I found this really amusing. I don't THINK I am quite in that category yet (although all my teenage nephews do) but I'm looking forward to using that list when I get there.

Frannie, yeah, I keep thinking something like that. I also like this one for the JWs.
They have to be deployed properly though or they just get tiresome. The smileys, I mean, not the clubs. -

It's called Smiley Central. All you have to do is google smiley central and it takes you from there. It gives you your own little smiley toolbar and has some pretty wicked stuff (also some pretty feeble stuff). This is one of my favourites but I never use it because I'm afraid someone will take offense.

I have another question, I have been looking for information into the fact the WBTS has stated for years that part of the remnant will still be alive in the time of the end but I think they have changed there view on this.
I'm sure someone a lot more knowledgeable than me will answer this in more detail, but I know that the generation thing has changed, and they are no longer saying this.

Hi Candles
There's lots of stuff posted on here all the time that will help you understand him better. If he could come here it might help him at least get a perspective. Good luck.

Crete is gorgeous in spring. Chania is by far the nicest town there, from what I saw. If you're fit you can take the bus from Chania to the top of the Samaria gorge and walk down to the bottom and take a ferry back. It was really fun. That was 9 years ago so maybe it's all changed, but I just loved it.

I think it's hilarious. I'd kind of like to post it over on beliefnet because it addresses some serious question I have about the inconsistency of JWs and fundamentalists generally. But they are so biblical over there it would probably just be ignored, and anyway I'm not sure of the etiquette of copying posts from one board to another, it seems kind of dodgy.

What kind of site is this??
by scabsg ini am new to this site and am having a hard time seeing if this is for ex-jws or jw's.
i am an ex jw but am wondering why i have been given the staus of "newbie" a term widely used in the congregations for new comers to the "truth".
now, if this is for people who have left and are trying to get back on their feet again, why on earth would such a variety of titles be given to members on here??

Is God Happy?
by dh inmaybe he/she/it isn't happy now, but can you visualise a happy god?
is the god in your belief or faith system capable of happiness?
is it emotional?
-

quite happy with the word 'Is'
I think "Is" would be a good name for god.
Is it possible for an almighty being to have a capacity for emotion while maintaining absolute control over itself?
I think I have a general concept of god that doesn't really include absolute control. I have a very Taoist view of the Divine Whatever, which as I understand it involves things simply coming to be, without anything like what we would call control. I also don't really see a conflict between emotion and control anyway. I think of emotions as non-verbal information that comes through in your body. Emotions are very physical anyway, would an almighty being have something like a body? Also, if an almighty being was omniscient then it wouldn't need emotions. If it's not omniscient, then I guess it's not almighty, right? I don't know, this is not a very coherent post but it's an interesting question, I enjoy thinking about it.
