I find it hard to believe that day will ever come, but 8 years ago I insisted to my husband that no one would ever be willing to buy things over the Internet. So I am not exactly a trend spotter.

New here (long)
by M@el5trom ini'v been lurking for a while now, reading many of the messages, and thought now's as good as time as any to say hi and tell ya'll a little about me.
i was raised a jw, and am currently still in "good standing", although inactive.
i went to the memorial and special talk and a recent special day ca, but few meetings or fs in quite some time.

Interesting post maelstrom, and welcome to the board. I think this is a good place to get it all out. There isn't really anybody else who can understand but ex-JWs. People who have never been JWs are at a loss, especially to understand all the fear and guilt. Current JWs can't hear you, because their ears are turned off. Good luck.

Astrology, the Zodiac, etc............
by Sunnygal41 ini know that this topic will be a draw to those who are truly interested in this subject, and for those who seem to feel that it is their "duty" to debunk untruth and myth, etc.
in their sphere of life.
let it so be stated that whoever is truly interested in this subject, and in having a "chart" done, etc.

I think Jung did some research on the astrological signs of married couples. What I recall is that he couldn't find anything significant about their sun signs, but their moon signs tended to be the same. I don't think it was a very big statistical effect, but noticeable. I thought that was interesting as the moon is the "planet" (I know it's not a planet, but that's how it's called in astrology) that rules your emotional comfort.

It means most of the wealth and power in the US is concentrated in the hands of a few but the average American hasn't woken up to the fact
I read an article in the NYT that said this:
1% of the nation is in the top 1% of the nation for wealth (obviously) BUT
20% THINK they are in the top 1% AND
20% more think they soon will be.
This explains a great deal, in my opinion.

I don't think the Bushes are actually Texans, are they? I heard they are actually New Englanders who moved to Texas only in Bush Senior's generation.

League of Gentlemen was brilliant, I still think of it whenever I go to any small village anywhere.
