Where Is The Ultimate Truth Found?
by JamesThomas inthere is much discussion here about the bible.
some might see that after hundreds of years of argument and controversy no two people interpret the damn thing exactly the same, and so they have acquired the wisdom to abandon it.

Yes James, how does a person develop or learn this stuff?
BTW, have you seen Zeida lately? I saw her recently but I didn't really talk to her, actually I'd forgotten her name. If you do say hi to her for me will ya?

Are we confusing mysticism with mystical consciousness? If you know what I'm talking about, you know it's two very different things - and you know talking about it doesn't really get you anywhere when that consciousness has not been born. We sure don't control when that happens any more than we can talk a baby into being born or a kid into reaching puberty.
Of course, we are all free to talk about whatever we want - the above is just for the sake of making the point. I mean I'm up for the discussion as much as the next guy, but when that hasn't really been established then it is only academic at best and misleading to the seeker at worst. Or probably more often it is just neither here nor there. Besides, you can talk about any number of other things and it can still happen, right?
Mark, of the lazy mystic class

This thread brings to mind the song Pilgrim by Eric Clapton:
And what does it mean to know all these things
When love's been wasted all these years
When love's been wasted all these years. -

Which Is Better?
by MerryMagdalene inwe naturally desire acceptance and deplore rejection but which is better--.
--to be rejected for what you are?.
--to be accepted for what you are not?.
-

Actually, when we step back and look we see it is their choice to make, even if they don't see it as a choice. We can either be who we are or who we are not, but the acceptance and rejection is up to them. That simplifies it a bit, there is then only the question of am I going to be true to myself, or not? Because if we are going to be caught up in the reaction of others, especially when they don't even consider it consciously, (how else would it be so predictable?) then we are involved in the same dynamic. The rejection is theirs, it is not you.

New Pro-JW Documentary! See the spin!
by Confession injust found out about this.
you can read all about it at www.knocking.org, but here is the homepage intro... from a handful of bible students in pennsylvania to 7 million members worldwide today, the christian group has ministered door-to-door for 130 years.
typically dismissed as a controversial sect, the much-derided jehovah's witnesses lack respect and seem irrelevant.

I don't know what you covered in the other thread before, but I am reminded of a book called Emerging Viruses by Leonard Horowitz, maybe you already know of it. It's been out a number of years.

by Markfromcali ini have a bunch of star wars toys from a deadbeat tenant that left a bunch of crap in my place, some of them i guess is worth a little money and i'd like to just get something to help with the cleanup cost of my place.
i hope this is not inappropriate, i don't care about getting the best price i can and i know some of you guys are fans or have kids who are so i thought maybe i list a few things, give you all dibs on it first instead of listing it and the whole 9 yards.
here are a few items, which are unopened:.
