Oh as for 'keep' posting here, it seems to imply a necessity which is not necessarily the case. I've left for months at a time, I think before I signed on with this name it was about a year ago this time. You don't always have a need to do something, sometimes you just want to.

Why do you keep posting here?
by ScoobySnax inyou know i like to post these dumb'uns but i was thinking this tonight as i sat here thinking what to post.
then i thought to myself, why am i sitting here "wondering" what to post on a forum like this.
i think i get more than the fair share of stick here for posts i have made because of what i do post, and i can live with that.

Where am I though? See I can feel irritation already in myself, and thats what I've done so many times before, feel irritated that I know how I feel, but can't get others to feel how I feel. Does that make sense?
Scooby, do you mean you can't get others to understand how you feel? It seems to me the affection you have is probably something others have gone through, you may not hear about it at this point though.
You know, knowing where you are isn't all it's cracked up to be. Some people just get something new to hang on to, but not knowing is actually the key to being free from your mind.

Inventing your own mythological guru (Jungian)
by frankiespeakin ini have been reading about carl jung and the archtypes from the collective unconscious.. i think it very benificial to fantasize or imagine your own personal guru,, to guide you through life,,to have genuine coversations with this mythological figure of your imagination.
i feel such a figure can grow to be quite an asset in dealing with your lifes problems.
they say there are 12 basic types or archtypes,,have any here tried this approach?

Qualities to look for in a marriage mate? Let's get real...
by findingme indoodle-v's thread regarding our own ypa questions got me thinking about this.
recall when we were past the "bloom of youth", and we could start the dating process (with only the possibility of marriage in mind, of course).
i was reminded again and again to look for that brother who possessed "spiritual qualities", ie, who could take the lead, had the goal of becoming a pioneer, or already was a pioneeer, etc.

Maybe this idea of looking for qualities doesn't really go deep enough. (where did we learn this anyway, could it be the JWs? YPA?) But really, I imagine atleast some who are reading this have met people who are great in many ways but somehow things just don't click with them. Different qualities naturally display themselves in different circumstances, it'd be far too mechanistic to have yourself a check list and then spend a certain amount of time with someone as if you can put them into a laboratory situation to test for your list of qualities. I would be far more interested in seeing how naturally some quality shines through in a situation where it just goes to show that this is the kind of person they are. It's not surprising for someone to be kind and loving toward someone they like/are interested in, when you see them behave that way toward a total stranger then that's very telling.

How about poetry? I posted this a couple times before but it has probably been a year or more:
The Journey by Mary Oliver
One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice - - -
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
'Mend my life!'
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop. You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations - - -
though their melancholy
was terrible.It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones. But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice,
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do - - - determined to save
the only life you could save. -

Angels of Devils by Dishwalla
this is the last time
that I'm ever gonna come here tonight
this is the last time - I will fall
into a place that fails us all - inside
I can see the pain in you
I can see the love in you
but fighting all the demons will take time
it will take time
the angels they burn inside for us
are we ever
are we ever gonna learn to fly
the devils they burn inside of us
are we ever gonna come back down
come around
I'm always gonna worry about the things that could make us cold
-----
if I was to give in - give it up
- and then
take a breath - make it deep
cause it might be the last one you get
be the last one
that could make us cold
you know that they could make us cold
I'm always gonna worry about the things that could make us cold===========

And I don?t want the world to see me
?cause I don?t think that they?d understand
When everything?s made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am -

Bible Mind Control is,,, Faith: belief in the unprovable, which,is glorified
by frankiespeakin in.
the bible gives faith a very high value and make faith in god a virtue that is rewarded with everlasting life.
this,,, is what gives the bible strong power,,, over the mind causeing it not to think clearly and see the clever control faith is.

Hi Frankie, yes I've been in contact with James.
In a way that is what I am saying, and reality is far more immediate than that. I could sum it up by saying it's not so important what controls your mind, but rather we might ask have you noticed that you are controlled by your mind? Most people would probably think that's a normal thing, but I say you are not separate from your mind so it is really not in any kind of heirarchical relationship. What I'm talking about is of course a mind that has constructed its own reality and is always trying to impose that view on you. This is nothing but a division within yourself and we can reasonably regard it as a mental illness.

Ohio, I would suggest that religion is based on confusion.

Frankie, likewise seeing you again the other day. Let me put it this way:
One day you wake up and realize you've been living in Beliefland. It isn't just the Jehovah's Witness ride, but as you actually know it could be the Pentecostal ride or any number of them. They are all part of the same theme park.
You remember that you actually paid to get into the park, and although it seemed fun in the beginning after a while you were throwing up your lunch on those rollercoasters. Besides, you realize it's just a ride. It isn't that any one ride and the story associated with it is particularly bad, you just see them for what they are. Although you might note how one ride or one kind of ride really sucks, you'd probably just want to leave the park altogether. It's all the same thing.

Heheh, well I'll tell you what guys - as one who was fanatical enough to ONLY listen to Kingdom Melodies at one point, you know it's a good test of how free you are when you can now laugh at it with no aversion whatsoever. It's not gonna hurt me in any way, it's just silly.
