Just live. Don't live for the possibility that she may leave the JWs someday, that's a sure way to drive yourself crazy. Then if you happen to still be in contact in some way it happens naturally, it wouldn't be out of an obsession of trying to make this happen.

my prob is there's this girl i really really like alot.

Also, you cannot change another person. They have to change themselves.

that is why i need to show her the religion she believes in is garbage. we're not having conflict right now i want to be prepared for when we do.

But don't you see, it applies equally to both you and the JWs - even if it is well intentioned. And actually you cannot show her it's garbage, you can only point certain things out and she has to come to that conclusion by being willing to look at the information herself.

See, even if she believes you she may change her mind later by listening to her JW relatives or something. Don't think it's about you convincing her, because if she isn't convinced for herself then there is no guarantee.

When you fall for someone you become enmeshed with them and end up not thinking clearly, because you forget who you are. I wouldn't necessarily emphasize the fact that this girl is a JW, but there will always be people whose life course is not compatible with yours - being JW is just one example. In the long run you basically just need to watch yourself and be aware of how the other person is, even if there isn't a clear line drawn like the JWs do. The bible says 'the heart is treacherous and desperate - who can know it?' Keep that in mind and you can save yourself a lot of heartache.

A decent and viable substitute for the WTS

let's suppose that a large number of ex jws decided to get together and set up a new religious entity to provide any spiritual benefits, that were provided by the wts but as we all know in an exploitative and destructive way.

in a devious way much bitterness was added to whatever benefit they gave.

what would your suggestions be in the way of forming such an entity?

Also any organized religious entity may be counter productive to freeing minds. Sure you might be democratic and all of that, but then it perpetuates the tendency to try and find support in a religious entity, whereas it is at best a good vehicle for that work.

We can just look at this board, it's not organized but people find support here. In the beginning it may be entirely appropriate for someone to hold your hand, but ultimately isn't the goal to have the individual stand on their own two feet?

Okay this is a couple of days ago but the puppy love thread reminded me of it... I was at work the other day coming out of the back room to find this blond bombshell of a girl waiting to be helped, it turns out she was looking for some vitamins for gout - so I looked it up in a reference book and pulled most of what they suggested. She was rather agreeable to it all, there were about 6 things totalling over $100, didn't seem at all concerned about how much it would cost. Everything I said she just responded with "Okay." (I should have asked 'will you go out with me?' or something) And then there's the brief looks which I think we both snuck in here and there... Hubbawubawah.... Okay I'm gonna go take a shower.

The other day at work I was talking to my boss about a drink we have called Muscle Milk, how it has this aftertaste probably due to the sucralose in it and I quoted Napoleon Dynamite: "The defect in this one is bleach."

I'm going to go to the library to check out a 900 page biography in a few, I'm not that big of a reader nor am I much for biographies, but I hope to get some understanding out of it as it's a spiritual biography of a woman and I'm a single man.
