Embarrassed! It's more like incredibly pissed at myself for wasting so much time. Mine, my wife and children. Who can I complain to to get all the wasted time back?

Embarrassed
by WildTurkey insometimes when i think back about when i was a dub, i get a little embarrassed.
i remember telling my kids not to draw on watchtower mags (i also had to tell their mother) i was a grown man and would let nerd elders counsel me for dumb things, like saying the word luck, or bulletin board.
i remember getting to the end of the month and not having the cong average field service time and start to worry what the other elders and co would say.

"Jehovah's blessing" ?
by AlanF insomeone i know recently attended one of the kingdom ministry schools for elders.
he indicated that after one session, he approached a speaker and told him how much he enjoyed the man's speech.
the speaker replied, "jehovah's blessing.".

Can anyone please tell me what the hell a blessing is? I am so sick of that line "Jehovah will bless you" Or "you'll be blessed for doing that". What crap, drivel & bunk & bull, not to mention cat litter...

Dear LyinEyes,
Just read your post and was compelled to respond. The feelings you and your husband have for the "one elder", in my opinion, is quite normal. Feelings of genuine camaraderie are a fact, depending on the relationship one has, or had with an individual. So don't blame yourself for feeling a bit awkward due to his surprised visit. Sounds to me like he caught you a bit off guard.
As far as he offering you the publications, well that's just WTBS protocol. He was doing the "elder " thing, and you were just to nice to say no. There is nothing wrong with you. A year in passing since not going back to the KH is not long at all. Your feelings of nervousness are quite normal, again in my opinion. Just hang in there. Don't say to much and they will go away, if you get my drift.

New book pisses active Witnesses off!
by Intuit39 inmy sister just called me at work to let me know that her husband (until recently, unsympathetic to her doubts) is thoroughly confused and pissed off by the new 'worship' book!.
he has been comparing it with the 'united' book, has noted the obvious differences (3 missing chapters), and has begun examining it word for word...now he is raving looney about it.. to top it off, they were at bethel within the last few days, somehow ended up in brother larson's personal office, and were astonished to find a model spanish galleon replete with huge crosses, and a huge portrait of good ol' max towering over the watchtower itself.
she said her husband thought it looked like a propaganda poster for 'big brother'..... finally!

I agree Simon. They will make it a "conscience" issue to cover their asses.

JWs: No Room for Misgivings?
by Room 215 init seems to me that in years past, a jw who admitted to having doubts, etc.,but who affirmed his/her belief in say 80 percent of the doctrines, but couldn't bring himself/herself to acccept the balance, while at the same time pledging not to ``cause trouble'' over his/her misgivings who be more or less left alone.
today, however, it seems to be more of an ``all or nothing'' paranoia that prevails.
i guess my question is whether a ``comfort zone'' for wavering but basically loyal jws to wriggle around in, or must they be resigned to eventrual epulsion?

Hi Room215,
Up to this point, I have found that so long as one, as Amazing quoted "just keep trap shut" ... has been what has worked in my case. As hard as that has been to do. So far none of the "Storm Troopers" have tried to interrogate my thinking so far.

A bit of a mess
by sleepy inhi,i just came back from visiting some relatives in the south of france yesturday.
it seams though that my wife has got us into a bit of an akward situation.she hasn't told any of her family in france that i no longer believe in the religion of jehovahs witnesses.in fact they all think i am a ministerial servent in the congregation at home.
i don't speak much french, and didn't know untill recently that she hadn't told anyone we don't go to meetings etc.shes afraid her mum and grandmother will have a big shock if they find out , or at worse she will disinherited from quite a substantial amount of money.
