  I could never understand why someone would start smoking after decades of not.

  Are you telling me you've not had a nice Dominican Republic, or Cuban Havanna cigar, or a few hits of Jamaican Gold whilst sitting on the shores of the Caribbean? I find that hard to believe Min.

  Our son is in jail for a crime. My fam says its my fault for leaving JW's.

  my wife and kids left jw's 7 years ago.

  all seemed well and then last week my 20 year old son committed a crime and is now in jail 1500 miles away.

  everyone that knows him says he is a good kid.

  Your JW families response to your your son being in jail, is their gutless way of what's called passing the buck. It's your sons fault he's in prison, nobody elses. If you don't play by the rules, you get caught and the situation he's in is what sometimes happens. Because you and he decided to NOT be a JW is no reason for your or his demise. And shame on those who won't help him.

  I think he could have gotten himself into trouble even if we stayed witnesses.

  That's an understatment. Teenagers and young adults do that kind of stuff unfortunately.

  hi again.. i just learned about a web archiving site that keeps a library of many web sites, even ones no longer registered.. i thought i'd check to see if the deactivated quotes.watchtower.ca site was archived.

  sure enough, much of the quotes site is still available, although not all updates or photos are displayed.

  perhaps links to items hosted on web servers other than the archived site aren't available through the normal links.. the name of the site is the internet archive and is at www.archive.org.

  been off-air mopping up since last night.

  the mother of all storms hit us and quite suddenly - one minute it was hot (as usual lately), the next all went dark and the most violent of thunderstorms hit us.

  in a time of drought this was some reversal!

  just finished jury duty today, what a pain in the behind.. now i can't sleep, keep thinking about everything.. judicial system seems like a big bueracratic waste of money.. i found the oaths here in pa interesting though :.

  the oath is part of centuries-old language still in use in most courtrooms.

  pennsylvania's oath is derived from colonial laws of the commonwealth, enacted in 1772, and reads: "you [and each of you] do swear by almighty god, the searcher of all hearts, that the evidence you shall give this court [and jury] in this issue now being tried shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth and as you shall answer to god on the last great day.".

  I served on four or five trials back in 2004. I found the whole court system fascinating. None of the cases were anything major. Three of the cases were with Judge Edward Cashman who's been vilified in the news lately(and with good reason) by Bill O'Reilly and others, due to his leniency for a child molester.

  Greetings vitty,

  The Draconian headship rule, where dub teachings regard women as "a weaker vessel" is one of those rules that are taught, but seldom practiced. I've seen more "spanked puppy" husbands, who claim their wives are in "subjection", but in spending time with them it just isn't the case.
