I guess the question I have for non-trinitarian thinkers is this: Is it impossible for the trinity theory to be true? That being, that the one can exist in three forms simultaneously and still be "of" the one?

ok putting religious reasoning aside what is a rational reason why humans are viewed worth more than higher animals?
why is a human worth more than lets say a chimp, a pig or a cow?.
neurophysiological studies show that animals suffer probably just as much as humans....but similar to little children they cannot understand the pain and express it as human adults can.
Humans are worth more in the slave industry.
I'd be worth more than an ass [donkey, mule, possibly a horse of non throughbred lineage].
Humans have tear ducts, the rest of the animal kingdom [AFAIK] doesn't
We cry our eyes out, get smacked and cry some more.
We can use kitchen utensils adequately and prepare food.
That less-worth ass doesn't.
I can dig a hole, so can a mole.
I guess I would fetch a pretty penny on the open market - therefore I have a value greater than an ass or a mole in the ground.

If you look closely at the firtst picture [on the left] - take a closer look at the trees.
They spell out a very distinct "W". If you look to the left of the "W" you can [using a little imagination stretch] make out
a manformed "J".

okay, this is interesting to me.. first a little bit of background on me, i was introduced to jw-ism as a zygote, raised in and baptized at the tender age of 12. i got baptized because my beloved grandfather had just passed away and i was told that if i wasn't baptized i wouldn't get to the new order and i wouldn't ever see him again.
no pressure or anything.... i really truly believed everything for the first two decades of my life.
really started doubting at 25, left at 26 (they df'd me even though i disassociated myself in a letter to the elders first).
I think it's awesome that you are in a good place. Happiness is a wonderful relief after living under that sort of regime.
Good for you Fleur :-)

just recently, i have come out of the utility room.
it's kinda like coming out of the closet, but not quite as serious.
you see, the utility room is the straight man's closet, cause there are tools in there and stuff.. you see, lately, i have for some reason become interested in men.
A fella should always use skin cream on his hands -- those bar room brawls will crack your dry skin no end.
Brush shave? Or Disposable?

i hate this.
but god only knows what is going on with the folks caught in guantanemo bay.
this is so disgusting, abusive, and traitorous.
--- terrorist scum that started all this in the first place
You want to start reading history before you go claiming who started what. I am completely against terrorism but you need to look at the political history of the U.S to start seeing a picture of why there is hatred towards them from certain corners of the planet.
The "scum" as you call it didn't have weapons until they were sold to them. The "scum" as you call them didn't have high level military experience until they were trained. The CIA were instrumental if not at the head of many tactical manoevers into placing some of the "tyrants" of today into power. Read your history before you start accusing who started what.
The truth was painfully made public only after 9/11 and the public are ashamed of much of what their government agencies did in the name of power and control. We should look at finding resolution for the damage that was done both inside the U.S and abroad.

what will it mean when man finally creates a machine or program that can think and is aware of itself...?
do you think that day will ever come?
would it alter your faith at all?
Artificial Intelligence doesn't mean sentient life. It is generally regarded as intelligence that would be created initially by man [woman]. Once a machine was advanced enough it would start improving on it's own design [name the movie anyone?? lol].
The point when a machine starts to show intelligence is when it can learn from experience and modify it's behaviour based on the experience. Some early successes have been observed with spider like robots that have a limited "brain" but their program allows them to learn from their motions about the world around them and learning as they bump into things. The interesting thing is that the program was designed for them to not bump into things and to learn and adapt. Once they have discovered that there is an obstruction it is stored as a sort of living memory so to speak and they recall this and avoid it without the obstruction having been pre-programmed into them. This is an early development [and promising to the scientists] into AI although we won't be seeing a positronic brain for quite a few decades yet. When you start seeing AI built into cars, buildings, public transport it will be more in the vein of safety features -- but don't all Sci-Fi movies start like that??? lol
Actual self awareness is a totally different subject. When a machine can create, one might think that it has reached a level of sentience. Forget Turing and his "child machine" theory I don't think we will ever see that in any lifetime.
