  hello every body,.

  i'd like to introduce myself, i hope you will well understand me (indeed, iam a 23 yeas old french girl).. i am very happy to see that several personn has lived the seam experience has me so they are abble to understand better what i feel and who can help us to live better ans follow our way forward life(i hope you will understand what i mean).. i was born in a jw's family, and when i got 12 i begin to ask me some question and have some doubts about this ''thruth".. when i begin to have my boyfriend (not jw) i had to lie...we stayed 4 year together but i never had sexual relation because i was affraid of consequency (even if i was not baptized).

  but every times "brother and sisters" told lies to my parents, about me and about what i was doing with my boyfriend (but we never did anything).

  Kind of creepy to think that so many of us could be trained /indoctrinated to think that way. Can you say "brain-washing?"

  Looking at it now, from the outside, it all sounds so crazy. But that was the "reality" we accepted, right? Kind of like The Matrix.

  while i was still a faithful slave of the organisation in the uk, a change came into effect that must have broken their corperate righteous heart!.

  because of some law to do with registered charities and solicited contributions, the wts in britain were forced to make all of their publications (including videos and cassettes) available at no cost.

  All materials are "by donation arrangement only" in the US. I hear it was something to do with the WTS not wanting to pay sales tax on all the manure we were supposed to be handing out. This "new arrangement" was put into place a few years ago as best as I can remember.... You know how hard it is to keep up with "new light!"

  Drones/clones/ pubs were supposed to make a contribution to the Society commensurate to the literature they took that month. (Most of which in my house sat on a bookshelf and gathered dust). And any contributions were SUPPOSED to be put into the contribution box as well...... hmmmmmmmm. Isn't that called "double-dipping?"

  Totally f*@$-ed up. I feel badly now for the little old widows who must be living on a very tight budget, having to put out their meager means to an obscenely rich Organization. Hurts my stomach just thinking about it. Probably the same sisters who never had kids because "Judge" Rutherford told them not to back in the 20s and 30s, because the end was "anyday now."

  Gum Chewing

  Having a chew in my (former) cong. was looked down upon --- I am sure the PO and the 'brotherhood" had mental score-cards for those who did and those who did not -- with the associated consequences or privileges handed out accordingly. (I chewed anyway. That, and my goatee marked me forever, I guess!

  Our PO was so hung up on not chewing gum that he refused to EVER chew gum. On a trip he made to Mexico a few years back, a sweet little girl, probably 5 years old, offered him a stick as a gesture of kindness (or maybe halitosis) Anyway, not wanting to offend the host family and the little girl, and not having the ability to speak spanish to explain his quandary, he took the gum and chewed his first stick of gum EVER. It just about mentally killed him.

  can you say "uptight?"
