USA toddler in car shoots mom dead AGAIN!!!

yes afew months ago a florida woman was shot in the back with a gun left under her seat by her toddler.

today a milwaukee woman was killed by the same thing.

australian 30 year anniversary of port aurthur massacre when most dangerous automatic weapons were banned.....no massacres since for 30 years.

Another statement that is misleading in the 12/15/15 Watchtower is this: "In fact, just two years after the New World Translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures was released in 1950, the Revised Standard Version was published."

The Revised Standard New Testament was first published in 1946, four years before the NWT Greek Scriptures. While the RSV Old Testament was first published in 1952, the Watchtower gives its readers the impression that the NWT was published first. In fact the first volume of the NWT Old Testament wasn't published until 1953.

my writing a book about my strange life as a jw.

i need some help.. does anyone remember when they used to get these charts out at the service meetings which had all the hours, "back calls" and bible studies on it?

what did they call that?.

How about the brothers and sisters who played the piano at the KH? We had one sister who before becoming a JW had played honky tonk piano in night clubs. She always jazzed up the Kingdom songs. Loved her performance. She made JW songs almost pleasant to listen to.

Another time the sister who played the piano had to leave the meeting early for some reason. So when it came time to sing the final meeting song the brother conducting the meeting asked if someone would volunteer. So a brother volunteered. This guy had also played piano in night clubs and was very good at it. Unfortunately this evening he was plastered, but he played anyway. Another interesting performance.

When the GB eliminated live music at the KH and changed to canned music, singing at meetings was no longer fun.

Under WT rules, can JW women file for a divorce? Or can only men file?

the reason i ask is because while watching the "dateline" episode about ralph candelario, the claim was made that only jw men could file for divorce, not women.

i had never thought about this before.. also, how does this apply in cases where a husband is "apostate" while the wife is faithful to wt?

Perhaps things have changed in JW land since 1984 when I left. But back then a JW woman could get what was called an unscriptural divorce, meaning for reasons other than adultry. However, she wasn't free to remarry until her ex committed fornication.

Unlike the sacked Bethelites and Special Pioneers who lost their funding, and don't even know where their next meal is coming from; Sanderson looks well fed. In fact he looks rather bloated, like he's gained a lot of weight since joining the GB.

i texted my mother a couple of questions.

i asked if she thought that my children will die in armagedon even if they were good, and had a possitive outlook on life.

My devout JW non-Latino mother never shunned me, even though a JC had determined that I'd DAd myself because I refused to meet with them. I also know of several other non-Latino JW families that didn't shun their DFd and DAd family members.

Perhaps it is becoming a "don't ask don't tell" policy among the rank and file and the local elders. After all many JW elders have DFd and DAd family members too.

Another JW Literature Trolly Experience

this morning i stopped at dollar general to get a cheap container for waste paper.

it was 11:30 am and there were two jw literature trolleys parked near the store and manned by three jws, on old man in a rolling chair, a 30 something man, and 30 something woman.

as i walked by them i glanced at the their literature rack and proceeded into the store.. i was in the store for 20 minutes and made my purchase.

It was 11:30 AM and there were two JW literature trolleys parked near the store and manned by three JWs, on old man in a rolling chair, a 30 something man, and 30 something woman. As I walked by them I glanced at the their literature rack and proceeded into the store.

I was in the store for 20 minutes and made my purchase. As I left the store to return to my car, I noticed that the female JW had departed. Apparently she clocked out early. Anyway I stopped by the trolleys and looked at the JW propaganda leaflets and brochures. To my surprise the younger JW man said: "Everything is free, take what you want." From what others on the forum have related, I didn't think the trolley JWs were suppose to talk to the public. Perhaps this guy was the exception.

I didn't have a lot of time and I wasn't interested in any of the publications that they had on display. But I did want to get a copy of their new Bible. So I asked: "Do you have any Bibles?"

Again he surprised me. He handed me a copy of the Revised NWT. It was still in the clear plastic wrap, which I accepted. I told him I preferred the New Revised Standard Version Bible, but I'd look over the JW Bible. Again he surprised me by saying: "I have the NRSV at home. It's a good translation."

Unfortunately I didn't have time to engage in any un-witnessing. So I thanked him for the Bible. But as I was leaving he gave me a leaflet titled: "You Are Invited to Study the Bible With JWS." I found it interesting that the leaflet said it was printed in Canada. But this experience took place in Santa Rosa, California, USA. Is Canada doing the bulk of JW printing now?

The Revised NWT was printed at Wallkill, New York, USA. However, the quality of this new Bible is inferior to the JW publications that I remember during my time in JWism. Of course I departed from JW land in 1984 so I guess things change.

Regarding the RNWT, the gray cover seems to be good quality for synthetic material. The Watchtower is too cheap to use quality leather. The paper also seems to be good. However, the binding is greatly inferior to that used in the older JW publications. Where in the past even JW teaching books had signatures, where the pages and backing were sewn. The pages of the RNWT are simply glued to the back. Actually this RNWT has the same binding that you would find in a trade paperback, which is not designed for the frequent use that a devout JW would put it through. So I can see the spine cracking and the pages falling out of these new Bibles after a year or two of frequent use. Perhaps that is the Watchtower's intent, so the devout JWs will have to replace their Bibles every few years.

how in the world did they justify this torture?

imagine the children forced to sit in the summer heat at yankee stadium for 12 hours a day.

We drove from California to NY to attend the International convention in 1958. We camped out on the way there and back. That was the fun part as I was only 12 at the time. But sitting in the heat for 8 days hearing boring talks was in my opinion child abuse.

Also attended the 1963 8 day convention at the Rose Bowl. I was 17 at the time. But sitting for 12 hours in the heat for 8 days listening to boring talks was teenager abuse.
