recently my brother, sister, and i talked for the first time about how we survived the meetings when we were kids.
i loved hearing their stories.. i had a whole imaginary world i went into.
once the songs were over and the talk started, i would focus on the speaker to look like i was listening and then zone out.
The meetings at the KH were very boring, especially the Watch Tower Study on Sunday afternoon. When I was Watch Tower Study conductor I had a hard time staying awake during the study and I was standing up. It was no wonder that half the congregation was asleep in their chairs. I haven't attended a Watch Tower Study in years. Does it still put you to sleep?

Russia. When I was in Moscow I drank a beer called 3 Bears. It was great stuff.
Robdar, glad that you tried Scrumpy Jack. I think that the best Scrumpy Jack is made by Sheppy's. Its the best Scrumpy. However, Ireland has Cashel's which is also a great cider. Out west here we have a cider called ACE, which is the best American brand.

I don't consider myself to be an apostate. If you think of yourself as an apostate are you not unconsciously saying that the Watch Tower is true and that you are standing apart from God's organization? The JWs can fling the term around, but I don't view anyone here as an apostate. I have been associated with several religions during my spiritual journey. Therefore, I don't consider myself an ExJW any more than I am an ex-Unitarian. However, I am much happier now that I am free of the Watch Tower.

the only thing i liked about them was lunch time.
back in the day, then i could grab the little coupons, ten to a page, each worth 10 cents.
I always hated going to the Assemblies. Don't have any good memories of these events.

hi, everyone.. a week or so ago someone posted on the subject of black reparations and asked what our opinion was - pro or con - and why.
now, i'm not going to claim that i'm an expert on the subject, plus, i'm white, plus, i'm a back country red-neck (of the jeff foxworthy stripe .
well, the truth is that country red-necks are as badly misrepresented in public opinion as most other groups in the country.
Speaking of reparations, what about the plight of Native Americans? Being part Native American, I think we should be considered first when it comes to reparations. After all it was our land that was stolen. Unlike the Blacks, our people were often exterminated to make way for progress. So if anyone deserved reparations its the Native Americans.

i was reading something bout bashing the org unfairly...i disagree with doing it to a degree but did you get an unfair bashing by jws after you left?
i was accused of marrying a sister (who i helped to leave at the same time as me), she was twice my senoir and had sons the same age as me...pure lies and gossip.
and i was accused of smoking some drug, and thats why i disassed.
I don't know what they have been saying about me since I left. Never went back to find out. But I am sure that it is all negative.

I was happy to hear that you were able to attend Episcopal services today. We Episcopalians are quite different from the JWs. Our church is like a big tent and everyone is welcome. Like another Episcopalian, General George Patton, I believe in reincarnation and have discussed this with several of our priests. If I had been a JW and mentioned this to the elders they would have canned me. However, the Episcopal Church is a very tolerant church. I remember a wonderful priest who used to serve the parrish that I attended. He once said that the "church is not a hotel for saints, but a hospital for sinners."

well, my daughter decided to write they letter.

she was generous and kind in her comments, yet concise and to the point.
