they may stop the awake.. simply because its easy to investigate their science now. but i doubt seriously its because of money problems. they have a shitload of money .. i havent heard anything about them stopping publishing it though. that would be like a major announcement so i'm doubtful its true.

Can you stand in court with a silent lamb?
by Dogpatch incan you stand in court with a silent lamb?
on november 11, 2003 howard kanhe a jehovah's witness in good standing was convicted of molesting his daughter, in addition, his step daughter also offered testimony of her molestation but her testimony was kicked out due to the statue of limitations in california.
this was used as a basis to mount an appeal of the original sentencing.

corvin your right of course.. but ya know a lot of us (me) dont have the means to go to california and sorry but my prayers and postitive thoughts are all i got. and some of us (me) have battles of our own we're fighting i havent seen my kids in MONTHS because i'm bad association and my jw ex wont drive them an hour and a half to see me since i have no vehicle anymore.and my own daughter that lives in the same CITY as me wont come see me or give me a ride up to the other kids when she goes.. THATS what i'm fighting to change at the moment. . maybe i read your tone wrong.. but i'm not going to feel guilty about that prayers and positive thoughts are all i've got to give to that poor girl. i've fought for a molested child in my life. i took her into my home and talked to her, did what i could to prevent the molestor from becoming an elder ( failed) , have got up and walked out of the hall when he visited to give sunday talks and told anyone that asked WHY i walked out.. the child is now a strong young woman in her mid 20s. far far away from the wtbs and part of her recovery came from my efforts so i can encourage you by letting you know that success is possible in helping the victims heal and move on with their lives.
i applaud your fire, your drive and your determination and wish you well on your quests.

when i was a kid there was a mexican family that moved into our area.. me and a sister that was like an over weight bea arthur went to the door.. the door opens.. and the room is FULL of mary's and jesus's and crosses and like a shrine or something on one wall ( sorry i'm not fluent in catholic stuff) and she comes to the door with a HUGE cross in her hands. ( huge then cuz i was a kid) i scream and tear off back to the car terrified satans gonna get me because CROSSES ARE BAD!!! ....... sister bea talks to the lady, comes back to the car.. smacks me upside the head in a joking way (its a southern thang) and says the lady wanted to know if i was a vampire child.. the entire car was laughing their butts off and i was still watching out the window waiting for satan! that was the last time i went out to learn from the old pioneer ladies without my mommy! lmao
(nothing unusual said at the door but it was an unusual experience)

"You'll still be handled as a disfellowshipped person."
by Fleur inthat was the response that i got from a relative when i asked if they would shun me if i came to my grandmother's memorial service.. the same relative thinks that i should go, despite that because it's a public event but that if i did i should realize that i'd still be handled as a df'd person.
meaning, they would all shun me.. i have for days been trying to help this relative arrange my grandmother's burial with another relative who has refused to sign necessary papers.
i even offered to pay for said burial out of my own pocket if money were an issue.

hugs fleur.. in my opinion if you feel the need to go to the funeral to say goodbye to your grandmother and show your respect then go. it will be painful but honey remember your not the one causing the pain. they are. as you told them, your door is open.
if you feel you cant go, thats ok too, your grandmother is at peace now. you showed love to her while she was ailing, making the blanket was a sweet loving gesture. you'd miss the fine witness given in the funeral talk ( sorry i cant call it a eulogy if its a jw funeral) , you'd miss family self righteously shunning you.... but ya know.. if you do go.. you remind them your human, your still alive, your doing ok, and there is life after being a jw and you really dont know who that might affect.. some may be secretly getting sick of the jw world too..
whatever you decide, remember your not an evil apostate.. your a grieving grandaughter, your a woman whos stood up for what she believes in.. hugs tight and hang in there.

(assuming she's telling the truth cuz why the heck anyone would lie and go thru such torment is beyond me!)
am i understanding this right? other jw's are standing up for this man that is accused of molestation? going against the victim? siding with abusive parents that would cast their child out in the night?
who the heck knows what goes on behind closed doors. geez
i hope the girl in question gets her day in court and has her own supporters with her. i cant imagine how hard it would be to do take someone to court, let alone her father and to have the mother mother and the whole congregation standing with HIM! UGH . she's got some cajones that gal! good luck to her. corvin you take a lot of voices with you if you do make it there.. let your voice , posters, letters reflect the sound of all those who want justice for her.

crazy weekend....am i going to hell????
by red so deep inok, so i'm not going to go into specifics but this weekend was a bit crazy and i did something i could easily get df'ed for...but the thing is, i don't really feel bad about it!
being raised in the org, your always taught that "wrongdoing" is inevitably attached with unbearable guilt but i'm not really feeling that right now...i'm not sure if i'm just a bad immoral person or whats going on....

by ezekiel3 infrom awake!
november 22, 2004 "watching the world" pg 29:.
"two long-awaited studies have found that the [u.s.] roman catholic church suffered an epidemic of child sexual abuse that involved at least 4 percent of priests over 52 years and peaked with the ordination class of 1970, in which one of every 10 priests was eventually accused of abuse," reports the new york times.
