I ussually try to be very sympathetic with the beliefs of the families of a dying/term. ill person. I don't think of this as a time to apropriately express my own views of life and/or religion. Be as attentive as possible. You don't have to accept a persons religion to be a supportive shoulder. I would ask if there is anything they may need or make a visit to the hospital. Catholics are many times very family oriented. At times of impeding death the most you can do is be their to lend an ear. I also like to send cards/plants/food to families. Many times people can become depressed and forget to eat. Just being there is a good thing.

At her age she is starting to experience embarrassment. It isn't a BIG deal. I am sure as she get older, with your kind reassurance of course, that she will have different feeling about her self image. My 5 year old was this way at 3, too. My daughter has a retina problem where she has to have her stronger eye patched for hours of everyday. At 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 she was very self-consious of the patch and didn't want for ppl to see her in public. Now, she could careless. Just continue to be reassuring and be a good example of confidence.

What's Your View of Telling A Lie???
by minimus indo you believe that telling a lie is generally no big deal?
do you try not to lie?
i know some that will speak the truth no matter how much it might hurt.

I think that lying is a BIG deal. My kids are in more trouble when they lie. If the do something wrong and tell the truth about it then the punishment will be less severe (ex: the time-out will be shortened). I have been know to lie now and then, but I really feel very guilty afterwards. I try to avoiding lying in general.

Just wanting to share something positive.
by BLISSISIGNORANCE inhello friends.
i have been away from the forum for a while and just wanted to drop in to say a quick hi to all.. i was looking through some of the posts and remembering how i felt a couple of years ago when my entire family walked away from the borg, and the reasons for leaving.
there was so much hurt and sadness, confusion and anger, and of course fear!.

What truths have you come to embrace?
by Steve Lowry inby this i mean, what general basic truths or principles have you acquired in your life that you can use to better understand human behavior as it unfolds before you?
(it doesn?t have to necessarily be human behavior.
here are two i have learned:.

If you give love you will get love in return.
Love is spelled T-I-M-E
Life is what you make of it.
The second one is my favorite. With my big family (4kids) their isn't enough time to go around and remembering this phrase gives me the push I need to make every moment count with my husband and my children.

This is a very easy recipe and it is my favorite thing for dinner ...that I can make
4 boneless chicken breasts
8 stips of bacon
salt, pepper, sage
preheat to 350
season chicken with 2 parts salt, one part pepper and one part sage. Then wrapp two strips of bacon around each piece of chicken. Place in a lightly oiled pan and cook for 30 minutes. Serve with wild rice
YUMMY!
