Aww...now I have to go with all these great ideas about where to leave "apostate" literature. I especially like the idea of taping it to the back of the stall doors.

I need academic journal articles about JWs...
by somebodylovesme inonce again, for the sake of a research project, i am looking for any journal articles focusing on or discussing jws.
specifically, i am interested in sociological/psychological perspectives -- anything communication related would be especially helpful (e.g.
rhetorical criticism, organizational critiques).

Does the jelly mould theory hold water?
by barbar ini recall the idea that just like a jelly mould that has a dent all of the jellies will also be dented.
therefore just as adam was imperfect we to would have the imperfection.. if a cook makes a faulty jelly, is it the jelly that would be blamed?
no, it is the cook for using sub-standard tools or materials.. the same is true with adam, the faulty materials should have been replaced immediately, it is no good blaming the offspring of adam and making them pay for his faults.. i never could understand the suggestion that we had to pay for adams sin.

It hit the fan tonite...
by beaker ini picked up my kids from my ex (still jw) tonite.
she wanted to come and get them back off me on sunday morning so she could take the meeting and every sunday meeting.
of course i wasn't going to agree to that so she said that she wanted them every second weekend so they could go to the meeting.

I really feel for you Beeker. It is in the best interests of your children to fight for them to keep them out of this cult. You are completely right when you say your ex is inhibiting their education, as well as preventing them from having a normal childhood. It is important for children to be exposed to a variety of (safe) people in (safe) situations. The WT absolutely prevents this. Keep us posted, if you are inclined to do so.

Hey, just a mention about assemblies. Ever notice the huge price tag on these things mentioned during the announcements? Like they'll announce how much they have received in donations for the day and then announce that there is a deficit of $6500. Even though the assembly was held in a Kingdumb Hall and completely run by "volunteers". Where the hell does the big bill come from?

The TRUTH for dummies. Chapter 1
by beaker inbeing only newly freed from the wts, there are many people who were my friends that i would like to be able to explain the truth about many of the points raised on this board.
so i have decided to compile a publication that i can mail to them with short succinct, hardhitting reasoning on areas where the wts is misleading them and also areas where they are saying one thing but practising another.
i would like to be able to limit the explanations to one topic per page with the hope that if there is not too much too read they may just bother to read it.

I really think you need to add the line "Anyone arguing if Jesus died on a cross or a stake is severly missing the point." I can't believe the JW spend so much time arguing about this, just to attack other religions.

Got a visit from a "sister" today
by sandy inok, so its been five years since i've been a technically, active jw.
an older lady came by to see me today.. she heard about my surgery last week and was in the area so she dropped by to say hello and wish me well.
no jw talk at all till the end of the conversation.
