Could Assemblies Be Wrecked?
by metatron inassemblies at the reading pa. assembly hall are getting disrupted repeatedly by somebody who keeps pulling fire alarms.
many witlesses blame it on "apostates" - rather than the dissolute teenagers who used to do such things in my day.. there are lots of things that so-called 'apostates' may do to disrupt assemblies including bomb threats phoned in, swat teams called, printed green insults stuffed into collection boxes etc.
add prohibitions against strollers and you have lots of reasons not to attend and thereby avoid the annoyances.

Divorce: Are 'Worldly' People More Ethical?
by metatron indivorce is not, by nature, something pleasant or 'nice' in general.
that said, i do wonder if there is a trend in the world that transcends the "truth".. i can hardly read anything biographical these days without encountering someone who has gone thru an amicable divorce - at least, amicable in the outcome, anyway.
they may 'still be friends' and simply come to see it as another step in their personal evolution.

I have this Arab customer who was married to an Armernian woman (muslim -vs- christian) they had a child together and ran a business where one sublet a portion of the business from the wife.
He was a big flirter, she was a mean bitch (I ran into her bitch side a thousand times in the 8 years I've done business with her).
After 13 years of marriage and a 8 year old child they divorced.
he comes to his business monday morning to be greeted by the sheriff, and told he's not allowed inside his business, and has a restraining order against him.
He has no say, her name is on the lease.
He then rents an apartment 2 blocks away with his brothers $$$$ help.
She not only takes his business, and tries to run it................... but the workers don't last more than 2 weeks before they quit on her (4 or 5 crews so far).
one day (he's unemployed and living off his brothers generosity) he walks across the street with the dog. she videotapes it, runs to the police station and get's him arrested on $7,500 bon for breaking the limits of the restraining order.
He calls his 8 year old with no answer. She holds him from him. his child has been told (I heard from her) that his father has given him up!
you get the picture.................. divorce is not civil........... it gets personal
true story, the jail was served this thursday!

How the Conti case has re-opened a can of worms for me
by Soldier77 ini haven't been one to start a lot of threads and i've actually been gone from this board for about a year only to return after the conti case blew open.
i stopped coming here because i had moved on with my life and really started to put being a jw behind me and stopped concerning myself with it.. my anger and hate of the wtbts had come to a simmer, i don't think it will or would have completely cooled, but then on one fateful morning i awake to an email from my mother.
i haven't talked to my mother in about 6 months as our last conversation was her spouting off how great of a time she was having serving where the need was greater and it was all about her and her husband and jehovah this and jehovah that.

Watchtower Society Fate?
by mind blown infrom what i'm seeing on other sites many are now coming out of the woodwork to file charges against the wts.. in all reality with the conti case payout, could the wts and individual congregations (also having to pay) really sustain these blows?
and if so how would this play out?
they're not as rich as rc religion.

I personally have always been under the impression that (if) enough elders are thrown under the bus. then more will quit.
Who knows? Alot of them enjoy prominence!
But, you guys are 100% right that since the WT has written on paper that all witlesses are ministers, then? (you got, all bets off!)
