Aww Mona sorry you are going through this. I hope if you do go to the meeting that you won't answer any of their intrusive questions. Challenge them to find 2 witnesses to your supposed fornication. It is possible that the 2 of you are just roomates and sharing rent -- why do their holier than thou minds automatically assume the worst? They do not have a right to judge you and they are NOT safe people to confess to. Their goal is to "keep the organization clean" and if that means tossing you out to satan -- they will in a New York second - they are not there to HELP you.

I think the whole thing comes down to them trying to reconcile that Jesus talked about a heavenly kingdom and the WTS says that Jesus really only meant 144k. I think the whole "legalese" argument is a red herring. They use so many words so that the average dub will throw in the towel half way through the response and thereby admit defeat and concur with their answer.

My question for them then is : when the 8000 remaining annointed all die (pretty soon) - will there be NO one for Jesus to mediate between?

I guess when there are about 10 of them left - there will be "new light."

Welcome to JWD lordfader!! I am not connected expect that my mom who barely speaks to me is still very much connected. I do wish I had done things your way though - fading rather than a grand DF exit. It has been hard dealing with/without my mom.

I don't think Jesus would be very happy with them. He never DF'ed anybody. I don't think he even commaned the prostitute to stop hooking. He just loved people and gave them hope and comfort. I'm sure Jesus wouldn't mind if some of his followers had facial hair, purple hair, body art, etc. I don't see very much of real Christian behavior among the GB.

If Jesus acted like the GB he would secretly come back and change a bit of the wording in the Bible - so that it didn't say "Before THIS generation passes away...."

The Internet and Apostasy

has the internet and forums like these caused an exodus from the j-dubs?

when i left in the early 1990s i met support groups through the yellow pages but it still felt like i was the only one in the world who was an apostate.

i've come to this forum in the last year to browse because my brother has now left.

I can't say the internet helped me get out. I've been out for 18 years and only recently found the internet information which also led me to CoC. But now I am one more in the number Danny was referring to committed to bringing down the BORG! Because of the internet I'm able to help other people not join or get out. I know if I would have had internet as a teenager - before I was DF'ed - I would have eventually looked at an apostate website. The curiosity would have been too much for me! So I am so glad it is there for the disgruntled young people.

Exposing The WT Lies Worldwide In Other Languages

i am very curious about the progress we xjw's are making on the internet in exposing the wt in other languages,,i know the french, german, english, and spanish, are well represented on the net,, but what about russian, polish, greek and all the others.

if you have any info on this please share i'm sure all xjws would be happy to know more about this on a world wide scale.. i just have a feeling that this expose is building up momentum, and that the wt is in it's last days which should cause the gb considerable stress.

ok, so there i am at work today, zooming up and down me ladder as i affix fascia boards, soffiting and guttering to the rear of a customers property.. pretty soon it started to rain.. now, good people, fascia-ing, soffit-ing and gutter-ing are not conducive with wet weather.

for several reasons.. 1. rain makes your power tools unsafe.. 2. the ground on which you work gets muddy.

this mud then gets transposed from your shoes onto the rungs of the ladder.

when you stop believing the bible to be the word of god the motives behind the actions of gods prophets and followers come across rather differently.

in fact much like fundlmentlists today.you have joshua comiting genocide , and paul moving in and tacking control of the christians and changing the religion to his own beliefs.

which other characters actions can be interpreted differenly when you see them just as ordinary humans with more selfish motives?

At the risk of being blasphemous - I would have to agree that god of the OT is a frightening Ogre! His people are wandering in the desert for 40 years and get a little hungry and thirsty. Humans who get hungry and thirsty - DAmn them - I'm gonna make them wander around lost in the dessert now! Oh-- you're hungry are you? Here -- eat manna three times a day every day for years and years -- that'll teach you to be hungry and doubt me...God of love that I am.

Then, what of the "land flowing with milk and honey?" I guess at the end of all that crap Anything would look good!

Then all of the sudden, in the NT, when Jesus comes on the scene -- God is all about love, mercy and forgiveness. Go figure. Sounds kind of Jeckyl and Hyde to me.
