I'm so happy that I faded and got married afterword. I think that every couple has their own way of communicating and working through their issues. I know some couples where the tactics you used would be perfect and other ones that would take a different approach. I need to figure out how to get my family out... I have five siblings and two parents still in it.

Did God use a global flood to hide evidence of a pre-flood civilization?
by truthseeker ini have often wondered why god would use a global flood to destroy what would appear to be a relatively small population on earth.
now, regardless of whether you believe a flood ever happened or not, or what caused it, let's just assume that god did cause the flood.
how widespread was civilization at the time?

I just can't see god of using a flood like that. Seems awfully vindictive for god if you ask me. The whole flooding the entire earth seems kinda fishy to me but who knows really. I'm sure through all the ice ages over time the shape of the world has changed enough that if ancient civilizations did exist then artifacts could be strewn about. Using a flood to get your point across seems kinda like how today some crazy people today blame natural disasters like katrina etc on the evils of mankind. If you were to tell the story for 6000 years I wonder if it would turn into something like a flood.

I live in Ukiah Still. The rest of my family are still witnesses some more active than others. I think out of the eight of us three got baptized as well as two uncles on my dads side. Sadly I'm the only one to ever escape it all. I bet i've seen you around kudra. I knew the Hobbys from growing up in R.V. I'm pretty sure they are all still active. I know the youngest son just got married and bought a house in the last couple years. And for the record Ukiah rocks. I don't think I'll ever end up leaving this area.

Anybody Irish?
by love2Bworldly inhello, have not posted in quite some time.
i put up some st. patrick's decorations at work, including one of those demonized little leprechauns, and enjoyed the look of a jw i work with when she came into the office this morning.
you know the look of pretending they didn't notice those evil holiday decorations?

Is this Bible warning a valid one?
by scout575 inat hebrews 10: 26,27 the bible warns those who would consider leaving christianity: "for if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgement and a fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
" is the bible trustworthy in saying that those who leave christianity are certain to experience a dread of judgement by god?

Its kinda sad Narkissos that your english is better than most people I know.. must be that us americans are learning american over english. And on the thread topic I don't place too much stock in any bible warnings. Way too much hokey fear stuff in there to pay any attention to it.

god losing influence, Religion Gaining Power
by joelbear ingod has very little to do with the daily lives of most people.. religion has a very strong hold on the majority of people across the world.
more and more religion has left behind the tenets that have to do with godliness or christlikeness.
kindness, love, mercy, gone gone gone.

I had the same thought recently. Religion loves to define god. Give him emotions and such. Don't lose hope though. I think most of us are examples of people that left religion. I know that personally Its going to take an act of god to get me to join another religion. HA!

I think your going to find that people go into a wide range of beliefs after leaving the dubs. I think you will find most people either turn away from organized religion alltogether or join some offshoot of christianity. Personally I belive in the more new-age we are all one spirituality. I don't see myself going to any kind of a church again in my life... but you will find a wide range of opinions on here.
