How is the WTS like other religions?
by Triple A inthe wts is always telling us how they differ from mainstream christianity.
so my question is how are they the same?
more specifically in structure not doctrine, that is another topic.. examples:.

When I was a young witness,I thought that they were not hypocritical like other religions, but I found out the hard way that they are worse.Hypocrisy,I suppose,is the common denominator.

Were they right about anything?
by kwintestal inthe wts is often critised about being false prophets when they predict something and it doesn't come about.
rightly so.
expose them for the false prophets they are!.

You DON'T Have To Listen To The Elders If They Say They Want To Meet ....
by minimus ineveryone that is in the process of leaving dreads the thought of having the elders approach them, call them, etc.
the fact is----just because they say they want to meet with you or just because 2 elders stop by to visit you----you don't have to deal with them at all.
simply tell them you won't meet with them, you won't talk to them.

Sometimes,If you don't meet with them, they can disfellowship you in absentia.

Some Verses That Jehovahs Witnesses don't want to talk about.
by truthbeliever inin all my years as a jehovahs witness, when i asked elders and others about luke 20:35-38,either the subject got changed,or they said the light wasn't shined on them yet.i looked through all the watchtower bound volumes and dictionaries, and found very little talk about these scriptures.hum...i wonder why they ignore them?ask the next witness at your door, and you will see what i mean.

Jehovahs Witness Double Standards
by truthbeliever inthe society said in past issues of the watchtower that reading "apostate" literature is just as bad as reading pornography, here is where a double standard comes into play.a person can't be disfellowshipped for reading pornography, but can for reading other literature.i don't get that.also they claim that music is a conscience matter, yet how long could a brother or sister listen to a great gospel tape or cd before being disfellowshipped?if a man grew a beard you think that they would be treated well at the kingdom hall?one last thing,if the society wasnt promoting the 1975 date, and never said it,then why were there not loads of disfellowshippings before the failed date for apostasy by promoting a false date?these are just a few of the many double standards that i have observed.god bless you all.

Verbal Abuse in Jehovahs Witnesses
by truthbeliever ini dont know much about physical abuse in the jehovahs witnesses, but there is sure alot of verbal abuse.i was verbally abused for many years in the congregation by a high up elder, who didnt know anything about his own religion, and a ministerial servant i will call jerkwad abusive.
(almost sounds like a jedi doesn't it?
)this punk was a first class liar, jerk, and cared very little about the organization.here's how his cycle of abuse would work:he would do a mean thing, you would become offended, then he would say if you didnt work it out with him,he would go to the elders.you would then forgive him,and then next week,he would do it again.nice, huh?when i first joined the organization, they told me to never tell anybody in the world about any incidences like that,or i would bring reproach on jehovahs name.i wanted to tell somebody, especially the cops, but never did.has anybody else had any experiences like this?god bless.

To the Brothers who asked what degree this abuse took, let me give you a for instance. One time in 1993,I was at Brother Abusives apartment and I had a Bible question. He told me he did'nt know and was becoming Irate.I thought he was joking,so I joked back and said he was acting like an "Unreasonable Baptist"He flies off the handle and I guess you could interpret it as a threat and says:"DONT YOU EVER CALL ME A BAPTIST AGAIN"I should have just walked out and called the cops, but me being the stupid publisher that I was,I endured it.Telling the Elders DID NO GOOD.I was only joking with the jerk. This is only one instance of this guy's abuse.I even went to other Kingdum Hells(Term borrowed from Danny)and tried to get their Elders advice, and those alway's reffered me back to my own. They really cared.God bless you.
