Worked for decades in industry and got a nice EARLY pension with free medical for life. That free medical for life lasted the first year. This year I have to pay for it.
I never listened to the janitorial class when they told me I should get a job that does not have shifts. Worked rotating shifts for 25 years before I got steady daylight. They still made me and elder. And now it all paid off. 58 years old and don't have to work anymore.
I still set my alarm clock though, when something important has to get done..........like fishing.

of new york lists members of the bible society, but i did not see rutherford's name.
he was supposed to left for the brooklyn headquarters in 1907. did i miss it?.

I guess the 61 year old in 1920 was Freddy's father.. Kind of reminds me of the Chucky horror movies.

Saw my JW parents yesterday. Dad not doing well. Neither am I!

they are 87. my dad has been diabetic for 40 years and has lost the lower portion of both legs.

Love from me to you! What you are experiencing is not fun at all. But at least you have grown!
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. It's amazing how after the pain we have endured from family ebbs when their end is inevitable. That goes to show that as humans, we have inherit compassion and love totally apart from WT teachings.
Hang in there Brenda.........you are doing the right thing showing love.

Things that make you feel like a Daddy...
by confusedjw inlast night my daughter (8 years old) came down to the bed with a belly ache.
she has a couple of legit issues which cause belly aches beyond the regular kid stuff.
her poor little face grimaces in pain.. so i had her get into bed, got out my iriver mp3 player, put one of my ear-buds in her ear and one in mine and we listened to music and i rubbed her belly and tapped out the songs we were listening to.

When my 33 year old daughter calls me every day from 1200 miles away..............when she tells me she loves me............when she tells others who then tell me how much I mean to her............and when she tells me that I need to move to where she is so we can be together more often.
WOW.......what a feeling to be loved by a grown child who once hated my guts when I was an elder. We are both out.

It's been close to a year since they've been here.
But I expect them to soon be knocking on my door (and I won't open the door to them) leaving a Memorial Invitation. And........I will probably be getting a phone call or two by the one who used to be relentless at ringing me up.
Sure glad I have caller ID! Then he blocked his phone number on caller ID thinking I would be dumb enough to answer if I didn't know who it was.
So I blocked the blocked calls and when anyone calls that way, the phone voice says that I do not accept blocked calls.
