this is going to take some monovering but, weve got visitors and they want to go to a meeting mid week.
sso we are going to take them to a cong outside our territory, and we need to visit it for a couple of weeks so they think its ours.
Thats the problem, we have moved, now everyone wants to visit us, free holiday more like.
No, this family are genuine, I like them a lot. But I think they will expect us to take them to our cong especially as its a hoilday town.
God I feel sick just thinking about it , but my family have no idea

What do you do when people from your old hall want to visit you and your new cong?
I have this problem as my family and old friends dont know that I dont go anymore
The problem when you move a long way away, is that they want to stay at least a week.
Any suggestions would be helpful, as im expecting at least 2 visits from different couples in the next month.
Tried putting them off, but you cant do that forever

proverbs 22: 6 says, "train up a boy according to the way for him; even when he grows old he will not turn aside from it.
i heard this scripture cited at a district convention and used to show that if the family heads were indeed training their children properly than this scripture would be proved out- because "god" cannot lie.
also, it was pointed out that this scripture doesn't say "he might not" or "probably won't" turn aside- it says he won't turn aside .

There was one, we sang it all the time I cant remember one word, but it started off as a dirge, then the verse was really jolly and happy. Its now driving me mad, cos I cant remember it.
I think its cos the holy spirit has been taken away from me

when you was a jw how many times did you recieve counsel or critisim from the elders.
i can't think of how many times when i gave talks ( 5 min) #4 that i would get counsel.
or going in service you should of said this or use this scripture.

You sound like my husband, but if they EVER tried to councel us on our private lives hed let them have it. A couple of niave and new elders tried, never again haha
Ive warned my kids never tell the elders anything, one in particular used to try and pump the young ones for info, little twerp
I never asked them for advice either
My husband was a MS , someone asked him for advice on a situation, cos they couldnt trust the elders!!! Anyway he went to a elder about it, wouldnt say who it was and got counseled himself

I think I would still be attending meetings if it hadnt been for this site
I looked at the JWinfoline which I thought was really interesting, but they are born agains.
It was when I came here, EVERYTHING everyone said, I could relate to and I had no intention of leaving the truth at first.
I knew nothing of the UN scandal, the amount of child abuse or the flip flopping of policies
It was the way everyone felt, about meetings, the lack of love the way a lot of people had been treated
