  just thought i'd share an article on the net i'm finding rather interesting.

  they are presenting the history of christianity in a chronological way that makes everything a lot easier for me to picture and understand.

  maybe it's me, but the society's publications never laid things out clearly for me.

  Explanation needed on Iraq war/oil quote....

  can someone explain to me what this quote really means?

  i still don't quite understand how the oil business works - i don't get how falling oil prices would effect russia's economy - seems like it would be the opposite??

  also, some have argued that the war w/ iraq is not about oil - does this support this or argue against it or have no relevance?

  Dreams of old friends

  ever since leaving 4 years ago, at least twice a week i have dreams of old friends, and sometimes i wake up crying, laughing, etc., depending on what it was about.

  the ones that bother me the most involve me walking down columbia heights seeing old bethelite friends, and they all look at me weird because i have dreds and earrings now, but they still talk to me.

  but they have this look of disgust on their faces, like i'm not good enough for them anymore.

  Any proof of mankind before 6,000 years ago?

  i was just browsing through the creation book and it claims there's no proof of mankind before 6,000 years ago on the earth.

  is this true?

  the quote a lot of sources in that publication that are against evolution - just wondering if any of these may have been taken out of context possibly??

  anybody else ever get angry at the fact that witnesses think they're the only righteous ones in the world?

  it bothers me so much.

  it's like they say it's ultimately up to jehovah to decide, but in the same breath they condemn you if you're not a dub.

  if that link doesn't work for some reason, the title of the book is "the christ conspiracy: the greatest story ever sold" - ck it out on amazon.com.. anyone read this book?

  are the claims that the story of jesus is derived from "earlier savior-gods krishna and horus" credible?

  Ruin those ruining the earth

  i do not have my bible on hand so i do not remember the exact scripture that says "jehovah will ruin those ruining the earth..." (isaiah something...) .

  if witnesses took this scripture as literal as "abstain from blood" there wouldn't be very many survivors of armegeddon.

  turning the key to your automobile ruins the atmosphere - we've all contributed to the ruin of our earth unfortunately - not because we intend to really, it's just the way it goes due to modern technology.

  Any Brooklyn Bethelites from '93 - '98?

  i guess i should introduce myself for i am a new poster-boy :-) my name is jason howard and i currently reside in santa cruz, california.

  i spent the first 24 years of my life as a jw, starting in danbury, ct, then to fayetteville & charlotte, nc, and finally brooklyn, bethel, where finally all of my negative inner thoughts and feelings were confirmed.

  (from the ages of 14-24 i always felt something just didn't add up with the organization, but i could never quite put a finger on it) i spent my career at bethel in the brooklyn warehouse/purchasing departments and worked with some really great individuals.

  August KM Insert RE: Disfellowshipping???

  can anyone verify that the insert in the august km states/reiterates one can be disfellowshipped for speaking to a family member?

  i read this through a jahchristian newsletter i received and want to verify that it is actually true.
