  DA-ing Announcement in the Society's New Book

  the society's new book 'organized to do jehovah's will', to be released in the congregations .

  on the 20th of march, introduces a change in the df and da announcements.

  announcements will read the same: "[name of person] is no longer one of jehovah's .

  I swear somehow I knew this would happen one day.
  
  They basically want to lump those who DA'ed themselves (for instance for doctrinal reasons) with those who were DF'ed, to give the impression that it's always the person's fault when he/she is no longer a witness.
  
  I mean how can a person consciously decide to refute the irrefutable TRUTH?
  
  Now they only have to say: "He's no longer a witness", so that brother Joe doesn't have to worry abuot those questions.

  i personally feel they will have to "adjust" the fds doctrine.

  the tricky thing is that the fds (whoever they are) won't approve this change while they're still alive.

  they don't care, they subconsciously feel it's their end anyway and they won't undermine their doctrinal position having lost all corporate power.. so who will send this beam of new light?

  One big reason why they won't is the internet. Imagine they officially give a new date. That would be a great event in the world of apostates (at least among those who still get excited about this stuff) who would be counting the days remaining to another fiasco.

  Just to rephrase it my way:
  
  This stuff gets even trickier when you give it some thought. If the cells keep replacing themselves, then am I the same person I was 20 years ago?
  
  And even if it didn't apply to nerve/brain cells, then what if I am the sum total of my feelings, knowledge and experiences?
  
  What if that is the real "substance" which largely (though not exclusively) contributes to my set of brain cells being different different from yours?
  
  Hell, when I finish writing this post - will I be exactly the same person I was when I started writing it? ;-)
