Simon: Are you using the XP that was sent with your MSDN sub (if you got it there)? Cuz I know that they distributed the Corporate version with the MSDN.. and that version doesn't have the Product Activation "feature".

Vivamus: Here's a tip that might give some new life to your computer.....
When you are not planning on using your computer for a good while.. do these little steps...
Go to Start, then Run and type this in
Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks
Then hit OK and walk away.
Your computer will then do its scheduled cleanup, file reorganization, etc... Using that command line and a little utility (BootVis) I've managed to tweak my dual proc server to boot under 30 sec (and that includes initialization of my SCSI drives, starting all the services that are running, etc... nothing that a home computer should need).
If that still doesn't fix the speed thing, you can always turn the XP interface off and go back to how 2000 looked like.

How about this one... For Minesweeper again.. (only for the version included with Windows 9x,NT and 2000. Does NOT work with XP).
It has to be done somewhat fast.
- Click a square to get the timer going
- Hold both mouse buttons down and hit ESC on your keyboard.
- The timer will stop and you'll get amazing times!

SNARE OF SIMONY!
by Deli King inno doubt many who visit our little community here at jwd were former elders.
im sure that many are still active as elders, and there are those would someday hope to be eldersmy question is for those who may have had the priviledge of giving talks at circuit assemblies and/or district conventions.
do you think that the reason why you got those parts was because you possessed the gifts in men or was it because you gave gifts to men?

Ok... let me expose this:
There's this MS that's probably the only one still putting money in the contribution box (or elders' pockets). This MS cheated on his wife with another "sister". Then he asked for divorce (to be biblicaly correct, she should've done that... not him). The elders of the cong DF'd the wife and the MS went on by marrying the "sister".
Now if that's not simony, I don't know what it is....

Question for all Jw.com
by haujobbz ini dont know if you been asked this before but what made you give up your religious beliefs,i assume that not all on here were jehovahs witnesses so if you were not please say.well i will telll you why i left, i got baptised as a jw 2 yrs ago and then started to notice say 6 months after baptism that the followers didnt really heed the what they were being taught it didnt seem to motivate them in their hearts, to say display genuine love it was more like a routine to them to be at meetings, talk to same ones, read watchtowers,it seemed so mechanical like robots,im not saying this is what caused me leave because i was serving genuinely i was really interested in practising what i preached, but i found it hard because everyone wasnt trying to do the samething.so then gradually i started to question things and then i got the internet last year and was itching to look on these so called apostate sites, you see i wanted to prove these sites wrong but in the end i was proved wrong with things like prophecies, jws past history, etc.
so thats my story

Same here on the double-standard and hypocrisy...
I also had lots of "insider's" info on a lot of DF cases that I disagreed with. Also knew of a MS that was the head of an MLM pyramid. But instead of paying the little tiny part that was supposed to go out to the members of his pyramid, he forged all the members' signatures and cashed the checks for himself. He also cheated on his wife, then requested divorce on grounds of fornication and the elders DF'd his wife. He then went on marrying the "sister" he cheated on his wife with. To this day and to my knowledge, he's still a MS in good standing within the cong (because he's got money).
I mean how much more hypocritical and double-standardish can you get?

Pornography and Sexuality
by Beans inafter leaving the only religion in the world, what are your views on sexual issues and have they changed more and more since the time you left the borg?
did you go sexually crazy and try many different things?
did you find intrest in porn and want to experiment more?.
-

I guess the WT should be using propaganda like this to prevent a sexual perversion.. LOL

In my case, my views started changing before I lost interest in the borg... I was into porn before I left and that got me into trouble. (side note: but not into as much trouble as being seen with my DF'd cousin, go figure). I was 16 at the time (was brought up in the "faith") and within a year I had amassed a masive collection of porn mags, discovered the wonders of the internet, started dating 'wordly' girls, pulled a gun on my [so-called] dad and moved over 2500 miles away from home. I guess that sexually I didn't go hog-wild either... I lost my virginity with the girl I'm currently with... that was 3 years ago (guess I was just too much of a geek to try anything before).
So I guess I'm not a sexual rebel at all.... but to the eyes of the WT, I'm probably the devil-incarnate!

What kind of Apostate are YOU?
by SYN inthat's right, what class of apostate do you fit into?
personally, i'm of the faithless (i'm close to being an athiest) and indiscreet (no explanation needed) class.. are you of the enviable smurf apostate class?
or perhaps even the haunted second-hand furniture apostate class?
-
ve9gra
I guess I'm in the same class as ISP.. I moved around so much that I think they lost my publisher's card!!! :)
Or I could be of the "Too bright/inquisitive to still be in the BORG" class.
