thanks for all the comments. They do seem to be able to cover things up very quickly once they detect a leak. The whole Df'ing threat is also a huge deterant to anyone thinking of becoming more actively militant against them. I, for one, would love to go to my local paper about them,or even leaflet the congregation's territory with my story. But I have my family still in it, and right now I don't want to deal with those things.

Question Re The UN and The R & F.
by Englishman inis it common knowledge amongst the jw's about the wt being an ngo that was linked to the united nations?.
or is this information just in the hands of a few elders?
i'm intrigued as to whether this information about the un has begun to trickle through to the r & f yet, and i'm also wondering if publishers will have a ready made answer (other than a library ticket)should they be confronted with this objection during the door to door work.. englishman.. bring on the dancing girls!

My feeling is that if Communism and the Berlin Wall crumbled then so can the WTS.
I can see 2 main reasons to hope this may happen:
1) the Internet
2) the very old age of the GB (I mean someone there had to have Alzheimer’s to not see the problems the UN thing would create)Please, your comments on this either way.

Good observations Mr Biggs. I finally got a phone call of "encouragement" from the PO in the cong, only took him more than 3 months (since my public reproof). After his call I joked that it must be getting close to the CO's visit, I was right - it was that week. All they care about are the numbers, they're obsessed with statistics.

Your chat with you mom sounds exactly like the one I had with my mom.
Based on what she said in response to your concerns, at this stage in her thinking I can't detect any instability at all in her loyalty/trust in the Org or GB. But you never know down the road if she personally experiences some hypocrisy/mistreatment somethings you said may resurface in her mind. I know you probably feel a little better since you've been upfront with her. -

Recording and Submitting Time Slips
by Defender insubmitting monthly time records is one of those requirements that i had always wondered about.
i mean how much hours and rvs did paul submit and how many magazines and subscriptions did peter record.. i always had difficulty achieving the national average, although i used to go frequently out in service.
i just could not bring myself to count the time driving to the service arrangements, driving around looking for houses, and driving off publishers afterwards.. this kept me from being appointed an ms from some time.

When my sister was on her way out of the org, the last 2 months that she actually reported time she wrote ridiculous numbers like 170 hours. The service overseer stopped by her house to tell her she made a mistake in filling out the slip, and she said "no, it's no mistake that's how many hours I did". He ended up having to take her at her word and that's the number of hours he submitted. I bet he felt stupid when the following month and every month after that she was "inactive"...I wonder how he explained that to the Regional Sales Manager (oops..I mean Circuit Overseer)!
