  discovered that someone stole my debit card information and made a $400 transaction yesterday......car is in the shop which will cost me about $500....what a day

  Education Issues.......Help!

  i was out last night with a jw but who is not attending.

  he is in his early 30s, is on his second marriage but now separated.

  i've known him for 15 yrs or so.

  I went to college at age 26-29, right after the WTS changed it's policy on higher education. I was struggling at the time, knowing I had the "smarts" for a lot of jobs, but couldn't get a foot in the door for an interview. It was difficult at times, and I'm still paying back loans. But my income probably has tripled since then.
  I was thinking of taking some more courses too..you're NEVER too old.
  If you can dream it...you can do it. Sounds corny, but it's true.
  If you knew the poverty I grew up with, you would never believe that I now own my own house, have 2 nice cars, feed 2 kids and a wife, all mostly on my income. I'm now 34 years old. So, do it! that's my 2 cents for you..

  I'm with Biggs (comments above) on this one. No offense for your earlier comments too, but I was also raised as a JW so didn't have much choice.
  Finally at the age of 34 (last year), I read CofC - it will DEFINITELY have an impact on ANY witness that reads it with an open mind. This book (books) works, and has worked for thousands of people already. The key is giving it to her at the right time. You may need to prime her for it for a while first. As Biggs said, no JW will want to read this unless they are seriously doubting or disillusioned.
  My hunch is that if she has you as a "worldly" boyfriend then she is already going against the Org so she may be ripe for your help at this time.

  Very disturbing. Especially that last piece. Makes me wonder why the guy was so distraught. did the JWs influence this woman to get the restraining order...was she in spiritual "endangerment"???

  THE ELDERS JUST CALLED US, NEED HELP

  the elders just called us.

  one called and another one got on the phone first to ask if my husband would meet with them.

  my husband told them he had nothing to say, and if they are going to make any announcement from the platform that slanders our name in any way we will sue them personally, and if we do meet with them we would only do it if our lawyers come and to tell jr brown and mario marino to come also.

  Enjoy! You've just reminded me too that I need to order a couple of CofC's for my local libraries. It made me sick when I searched the library and all they have there is the JW propaganda the "Proclaimers" book...YUCK!!!

  "Judge" Joseph Rutherford

  has anyone noticed that in recent years, when the watchtower.

  writes about rutherford, they refer to him as "joseph rutherford",.

  never as "judge rutherford"?.

  Dark Knight,
  During the prohibition years here in the US, Rutherford wrote a tract entitled "Prohibition" where he ranted on about how wrong it was that the Gov't should forbid alcohol use. Makes you go Hmmmmmmm ??

  How Many JWs Fully Buy Into the WT Party Line?

  for those of us with years of acquaintance with the wt and its teachings, it's clear that full acceptance of the 1914 date as the establishment of god's kingdom in the heavens is a non-negotiable condition of remaining in good standing in the organization.

  many of us know people who've been booted out just for expressing misgivings, lety alone outright denying this teaching.

  almost as central, and as non-negotiable, is the teaching that only baptised jws can expect to survive the big a.. .

  While I was a JW I personally had the "wait and see" approach to things that seemed a little too sketchy to fully believe.
  I talked to a JW recently who said he did not believe the society has ever said in print that only JW's would survive the big A. So for some there is this sort of denial going on.

  Are Elders trianed in incompetence?

  here's some experiences of some people i knew in the truth who had personal problems.

  who were they to turn to , why the mature elders , even better you could write to the society.. so what happened?.

  friend 1.. friend number one knows he is gay ,he likes men big boys.

  Since my wife and I have stopped attending meetings we have been approached by 2 different people complaining of similar elder follies.
  I guess people feel safe venting with us since we're out now.
  One complaint involved an elder who this sister caught lying twice during her judicial hearings. The other complaints were more general about the overall lack of empathy and feelings of the elders when it comes to sensitive issues.
