What purpose do the 'Annointed' serve?

have you ever wondered what the annointed do the other 364 days, when they're not partaking of the manischewitz?

(or whatever the hell that cheap ass wine is called).. aren't they supposed to be rulers in heaven with jesus?.

why aren't they getting any practice on earth?.

My mother claims to be "anointed". She has for the last 20 years or so. What I never understood is this:
pre-1935 this was the only classification of JW, whether you were 8 or 80 years old. When someone new made the claim of being one of the anointed post-1935 they were viewed as replacements for one who had died unfaithful. Numerous WT articles make the statement that any replacement anointed would most likely come from among those who have served faithfully for MANY YEARS. Why would that be the case, if as I said, you could have been 8 years old and considered "anointed" pre-1935 ??? Yet another WT riddle.

Do JC facts turn the elders on?

i hope this doesn't sound to insensitive but even when iwas an active dub i wondered how the elders could listen to peoples sexual scenarios without getting at least a bit of a thrill.

i'm a bit of a voyuer at heart so maybe i am making the wrong assumption but it seems to me to be human nature.

i have never been called before a judicial committee but i have talked to others who have and they are often pressed for lots of detail.

I have heard of this type of probing (pardon the pun) before.
I believe most of the elders (like the GB) are sexually frustrated and repressed. One sister recently told my wife that an elder on the JC asked her if she "enjoyed it", referring to the act she confessed to.

Letter to all Branches------A Fake?

many of you are no doubt familiar with the nov.1, 2001 "letter to all branches" putting forth the the library card defense.

(the letter can be seen at: ) i gave a copy of the letter to a jehovah's witness friend of mine who took it to one of his elders.

the elder said the letter is a fake because: (1) it is not written on official wt letterhead and (2) watchtower does not send such correspondence via the (eeeevil) internet.

The wording on this letter is essentially the same as one I have in my possesion (addressed to me) which is on the "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses" letterhead.

Sorry but U can't be baptized!

if anyone is interested, i have a question about baptism.. i know that in the bible jesus told his disciples to go and gather up all people .

who were willing to listen and make disciples of them baptizing them etc..etc..etc... so basically there would be a kinda pyramid effect taking place from that moment.

You're absolutely right. Did you know Fred Franz was never baptized as a JW? Somewhere in the WT literature there is a quote from him saying that he viewed his first baptism a a Presbyterian as perfectly valid.

When Reform Becomes Impossible

in some organizations, reform can become impossible.. explosive and centrifugal forces can build up, year after year,.

I'm glad someone else is as optimistic as me about an eventual WTS bust-up. I also see the parallels to the old Soviet empire.

maybe some of you who have been out for many years can answer this.. do you think that the flow of people leaving the borg has been increasing?

and do you think that we will ever live to see their complete downfall?

if you do think this is a likely scenario, how do you see it unfolding?.

thanks for all the comments. They do seem to be able to cover things up very quickly once they detect a leak. The whole Df'ing threat is also a huge deterant to anyone thinking of becoming more actively militant against them. I, for one, would love to go to my local paper about them,or even leaflet the congregation's territory with my story. But I have my family still in it, and right now I don't want to deal with those things.

Question Re The UN and The R & F.

is it common knowledge amongst the jw's about the wt being an ngo that was linked to the united nations?.

or is this information just in the hands of a few elders?

i'm intrigued as to whether this information about the un has begun to trickle through to the r & f yet, and i'm also wondering if publishers will have a ready made answer (other than a library ticket)should they be confronted with this objection during the door to door work.. englishman.. bring on the dancing girls!

Do you think that the flow of people leaving the Borg has been increasing? And do you think that we will ever live to see their complete downfall? If you do think this is a likely scenario, how do you see it unfolding?

My feeling is that if Communism and the Berlin Wall crumbled then so can the WTS.
I can see 2 main reasons to hope this may happen:
1) the Internet
2) the very old age of the GB (I mean someone there had to have Alzheimer’s to not see the problems the UN thing would create)

Please, your comments on this either way.

Good observations Mr Biggs. I finally got a phone call of "encouragement" from the PO in the cong, only took him more than 3 months (since my public reproof). After his call I joked that it must be getting close to the CO's visit, I was right - it was that week. All they care about are the numbers, they're obsessed with statistics.
