  Also, in the first quote, I notice you use "al aire" as opposed to "el aire." Typo or no? And in the last line you've used "esperandote" instead of "esperandole." Is that right?

  You are the air I need to breathe = Usted es el aire que tengo que respirar

  You are the half that makes me whole = Usted es la mitad que me hace todo

  Only with you I feel so comfortable = Solo con usted me siento tan comodo

  I have been waiting for you all my life! = Ihe estado esperandole toda mi vida!

  Ihe? Is that a word? How does this all look to you?

  in this organization, how can any witness express their disapproval of anything?

  I remember the mindset I was in when disfellowshipped. At the time, I still believed it was The Truth, and I was confident I'd be reinstated in no time, attending virtually all meetings. But I do remember thinking...

  "Okay, sure, I'll go through this shunning thing. I'll continue to bring my daughter to meetings and sit respectfully. BUT...if I'm not good enough to talk to, then I'm not good enough to make contributions either."

  And this I would not do for ten months, until I was reinstated. But by then I knew it was baloney anyway, so I didn't resume contributing then either.

  does doing what is right in god's eyes mean we have to use only bible terms?

  Mutual Respect Please, I did not leave because of having been treated badly. I left because, as difficult as it was for me to admit, I found that the Watchtower Society was not what it claimed to be.

  As others have noted you make gratuitous assertions about the abundance of love within the organization--and the lack of it elsewhere. They are the same assertions we all used to hear--and most of us used to repeat. You can hear them (and say them) so many times you get to believing them. In this world, it seems SO OBVIOUS that it's The Truth. What's missing? A willingness to closely consider all of the information. You claim to have done that, but your statements demonstrate that, either you haven't--or you haven't done so with a strong degree of seriousness nor openmindedness. As others have said, you are simply saying the same things we used to say--until we finally allowed ourselves permission to find the answers to the BIG questions.

  What will happen to you if you continue reading here? We all know, from experience, that the greatest likelihood is you will come to see what we have. Indeed Simon, the man who started this very forum, began it as a place for honest-hearted Witnesses to come. It's possible you may refuse to see it, but I doubt very much that it will in any way strengthen your faith in the Watchtower Society.

  Saying 'goodbye' on the phone. US style?

  i can't help but have noticed that the us tv and film industry more than not portray phone conversations finishing without any 'goodbyes'.

  someone will say, for example, 'see you at the mall' then put down the phone.. is this a reflection of the norm in us land or just filming priorities of time and money?.

  Ha! I've noticed this too. And, no, I don't think this represents what is common in the U.S. I always say "catch ya later; bye" or something like it--and everyone I know does as well. I will say this: I have found people who don't always greet you on the phone at the beginning of the conversation. There are a few people I know who do this, but one in particular. It'll go something like this...

  ME: Hello

  HIM: Soooo I was reading something in the paper that I thought was pretty interesting.

  ME: Okay...

  HIM: I understand you won Best of Show at the latest ADDY Awards.

  ME: Dallas, is that you?

  HIM: That's two years in a row, isn't it?

  ME: (mocking) Hey, Dallas, nice to hear from you. Yes, this is Jon, and I'm doing good too.

  HIM: I'm just saying that a guy who wins Best of Show two years in a row could start to get a big head; wouldn't you say?

  ME: (sigh)
