Mad Apostate Letter Revision?

just came across this "mad apostate" form letter in the best of area.... to whom it may concern: .

your harassing inquiries into our personal affairs are not welcomed, and any further attempts at such will result in legal action against the individual harassers, the --city--, --state-- congregation of jehovah's witnesses, the watchtower bible and tract society of new york, inc., the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses, inc., and all associated watchower legal entities.

to the best of our recollection, we have not participated in field service in approximately __ months, have attended no meetings in approximately __ months, nor have we participated in any other activities which would specifically identify us as jehovah's witnesses during the same time period.

during the nineties, there was a big mexican family that attended our congregation.

while they were not financially well off, they often enjoyed having the friends over for gatherings in their large home.

did it have something to do with the way sister oliveros actually said the word broom-ho?

Visits with my family; Planting seeds...

the facts for those who don't know me: 39 years old, former elder, 3rd generation of 4th generation jw family, figured things out september 15, 2004, moved with my 18 year old daughter from michigan to southern california (july 1st, 2005) in an attempt to fade, still haven't told any family or jw friends about my position in this regard.. was back in michigan for a week over the labor day time period.

(i know that was awhile ago.

) i stayed with my older brother and sister-in-law for a couple of days.

Cats a JW no-no?

i stumbled across what appears to be a website maintained by a jw circuit overseer.

on it he includes what looks like a question from readers.

it has very strong things to say about the 'beastliness' of cats--and why christians should consider whether or not it is proper to have them in our homes.

just found out about this.

you can read all about it at www.knocking.org, but here is the homepage intro... from a handful of bible students in pennsylvania to 7 million members worldwide today, the christian group has ministered door-to-door for 130 years.

typically dismissed as a controversial sect, the much-derided jehovah's witnesses lack respect and seem irrelevant.

for some time now i've been searching the wts' publications for a policy that i clearly remember from my time as an elder.

but i just can't find it.

it was the one which stated that if someone--even a congregation servant--came forward and confessed to wrongdoing, there would not have to be a judicial committee, nor would a servant even need to lose his privileges--if at least three years had passed and the individual had put the sin behind him/her.

as a jw, did anyone ever ask you the following.... "if you discovered that jehovah's witnesses weren't really teaching the truth, would you leave them?".

here again, it's a toughie for most of them.

if they say "no" they appear a mind-numbed fool.
