Halloween is great fun. Try doing an Internet search for homemade costumes - there are some great ideas out there. My daughter always brings her friends to me and I help them create costumes. I usually just do the witch when I take my grandkids around, but one of these days I'm going to go all out.

Wes, Stacey. Thank you so much for this. I think when many of us comment that we wish Eric would have known about all the friends who cared - It is clear that he had many friends, and I'm guessing he probably understood that on some level. However, the Watchtower tore a big hole out of his heart - a chunk that included the friends and family he most needed and wanted. Nothing could replace that.
The complete and utter aloneness he felt had nothing to do with all of the wonderful people here who treasured and loved him. As much as we might have tried, we couldn't replace the family he lost.
Sometimes people with terminal illness go beyond a stage where they can, or want, to remain living. The pain goes beyond what they believe they can tolerate. I can imagine that both of you spent many heartbreaking hours trying to keep Eric alive in spite of himself. When you tear out the foundation for someone who is already struggling with mental illness, there is nothing left for them to hang onto.
I didn't know Eric well, but I'm feeling the loss profoundly because a month before I lost a lovely young friend under similar circumstances, and the deaths of my mom and my brother earlier this year were both tainted with JW insanity.
I'm thinking of you both, and of all those who were close to Eric, along with his family. There is no greater pain.

Lovely, Cedars. I can't help but wish I had enough information and pictures of Jaimie that I could do something like that for her, too. Two people I cared about lost to DFing in just a few months. How many more? When will it stop? How can we commemorate those who have been lost to the evil cult?

It's been over 20 years and I still retain this crap!
Me, too! I remember 2nd verse line three as:
"it comes upon all those who call" not "it comes to those who choose to call"
And 3rd verse, line three:
"whether they are sheep or goats" not "and whether it's embraced or not"
The "hearing ear" line i think was:
"of course it's not at every door we find a hearing ear. At times there is a scolding tongue and those who will not hear. Twas just the same in Jesus' day not all would hear his word." Can't remember the last line.
I think I still have a brown songbook kicking around at home. I can check it when I get home from work.

Is the midweek meeting the new bookstudy in regards to attendance?
by solomon inwe had our circuit assembly last weekend and this was one of the needs of the circuit.
one of the main points was mid week meeting attendance.
apparently the attendance is very low.

I had forgotten about written review. I actually enjoyed that meeting the most - but youi are right, Blondie, most people hated it. From what I recall the book study was always well-attended at our hall. I think things started to decline when we did the Revelation book for the second time.
When I was a kid our meetings were always on Friday night, so no school issues. But it was the best TV night, plus that's when they had all kinds of activities older kids enjoyed - which is probably why they did it that way.
