I like the way you think and sometimes I still look at the bible like an old demon I haven't quite got rid of. But all of what you say is all based on the premise that the bible was written with knowledge from beyond, and it has been reliably translated unto us.
And, even if this can be taken as true, one has to ask that if there is a God, why would he be so petty as to choose one location over another or discriminate between places where people have no choice to be born, or to discriminate between people having the good fortune of hearing the message or those such as musleums(?) who don't.
Of course, there are many different opinions here, but me personally, I have come to an understanding that the bible describes an antiquated way of explaining the world which does not stand up to either science or logic and although I treasure the parts of it which promote Christain love, I fail to see how any God of Love could bring about the kind of destruction you are talking about.

Why Don't They Just Come Clean?
by ballistic ini'm sure that many of us exes are angry with the watchtower because you feel like you've been lied to.. for years you are told to believe in them implicitly, not to question, not to look else where for answers.. i think the governing body would gain a lot more respect and credibility if they simply came clean and stated the truth, i.e.
look guys, we get things wrong, we've changed our beliefs time and time again, and we expect that some of what we believe now to be incorrect.. keeping up this charade of being inspired by god into this century is going to give them more problems than ever.
several threads on this site have allready predicted certain doctrinal changes and these are rapidly becoming over-due.

Why make such a big deal out of pot? If you've been into coke in the past, surely you realise that cannibis is not addictive or expensive and it doesn't f**k up your life like coke can.
I would say alcohol is a drug far worse then dope. It is a big misconception that all drugs are the same and that the legal ones must be ok simply because they are legal.
If you ask me, alcohol can really screw you up but cannibis in moderation can help you chill now and then. -

I was really interested to try it despite universal warnings. I don't know why. One of my sisters became addicted to it and warned me not to try but I still haven't seen it working. Apparently, her glass topped one spelt the name jehovah to the question "who is the true God" before shattering into thousands of glass fragments.

apparently, such new claims are strongly discouraged.. my jw mum says that the reason for this is that when someone claims to be anointed, it can only mean that they are replacing someone else.
in other words, an anointed person has "fallen away from the truth".

What if biological weapons were on board?
by bluesapphire inthese people are crazy enough to do that ... put biological weapons on board the airplanes that would be released upon impact.. another thing i've thought about is this: don't airlines come from countries that are hostile to us?
i mean, what if a middle eastern airline which is destined for us has a nuclear warhead planted on it and the pilot is one of these terrorists?
couldn't they just plow into the white house or any target they choose?.

It is exactly this kind of arrogance that gets peoples backs up and turns them against the "American way" of thinking.
I didn't wish to carry this on in the other thread as I certainly have no sympathy with terroists.
However, I just wanted you to know that your comments themselves are an example of a pig-headed american attitude to life.
I could come back with 101 arguments against your comments on airplanes such as WHAT ABOUT CONCORDE. Despite a recent (and the only) crash, it has a safety record better than any BOEING or American plane, is supersonic, and was built by the French and Brits.
I could go on to other examples, and historic facts.
But my point is not about flight, it's about this "we're the best so get stuffed" attitude which I hate so much.
If America is so rich and always giving handouts to other countries, why can't it pump some money into stop being the world's biggest polluter or even consider signing up to international pollution targets?
