my name is lenny, and if i ain't got it, there isn't any.
can we do films aswell?

hello, i know this board for about a week but didn t dare to register and post something, to let the cat out of the bag ... i am a jw :) i was shocked after i read through some of the topic here.
honestly, i haven t seen any apostates in action until i started visiting this board.
a little bit information to my person:.
Of course I still believe some things I did as a Witness! You can't disregard every single piece of information, some of which is well founded. But I have disregarded the entire ORGANISATION.
It took me 8 years to recover fully from the mind control that the whole machine exercises upon itself. Now I can look back and see that the world is a bigger place and God is not so small minded as the witnesses make out.

why is it in the bible that it does say that jesus said to take the bread and the wine in the last supper, but he doesn't say its restricted only to the 144,000 going to heaven?
he was talking to his apostles of course, so does that mean only the elders, and anointed should do this?
i have looked in the bible on who should and shouldn't do this and have found nothing.
One of the biggest turn arounds in JW doctrine which I think is often over-looked is when they introduced "the great crowd". This is an example of changing doctrine to match what was happening at the time. They saw members climbing to over 144,000 (which the first bible students had never envisaged) and changed their doctrine accordingly in order to explain the numbers and so as not to stem the flow of new-comers.
Of course, in reality the 144,000 number would have been met by the 1st century Christains alone, and the GB know this and fail to print an answer to it.
But what gets me, is not that the belief is wrong, but the fact that they say everything is based on the bible, when in fact they twist the bible and it's interpretation to match the current events.

sorry for duplicating this post.
i made a mistake and posted on the wrong forum.. my question is, can we rely on the observer to give us accurate information on the jws.
i ask this question because i have read many disturbing things about the society in its early beginnings.
It's always hard to differenciate the facts when pouring through a can of worms such is the society.

my wife and i are moving 3000 miles away so that we can fade away as jehovah's witnesses.
i am looking for suggestions as to what i should do about our publisher record cards (keep them in pa?, get them forwarded to seattle?
) so that we can start our lives on the west coast with a fresh start and so we'll just be left alone...any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
There is no going quietly, if they know where you are going and you stop attending, they will haul you in before a JC as soon as there is a whisper of wrong doing. You are either with them or against them.

I spent most of the time wondering what the meaning of life was when I was IN the "truth", not out.
I believe there is some kind of God, but not the God that the Jehovah's Witnesses believe in. Not in a God that would play trivial games and experiments with humans, not the God that would set arbitary dates for the end of the World when he exists outside of space time, not the God who would punish billions of people for thousands of years because some man I don't know stole an apple, not in some God that wrote a flawed book containing a hidden code which only a few people can interpret, nor the God that's so small minded and petty as to lay down mundane and irrelevant laws.
I actually believe the way some religions including the Witnesses portray God is perverse, disrespectful, sick and blasphemous. God is much bigger and more grown up than they think.

i simply want to say what a great feeling it is to be free of the strangle-hold of mind control, guilt and the suppression of being in the truth.. i remember a co in a public talk saying how the new system would bring relief from the pressures of this system as if a huge weight had been removed from your shoulders.. and then those talks about being a "slave to sin" which carefully twists the "apparent" freedom of worldly persons into slavery.. i used to pray at night, that unlike my siblings in our large family, i wouldn't loose the truth.
i think something inside of me was scared i would.
i don't know why.. ok, so it took me through pioneering and a hopeless marriage but eventually i did loose it, and never wrote to thank them, and even though i'm not sure if i still believe in god or not, i should at least thank him, as i had prayed, a few days prior to my disfellowshipping, for him to guide me out of my troubles, whatever they may be.. i just want you all to know that although i post about anger at the wtbts, i trully am a very happy person, and i am happy to be here and to feel like that huge weight has already been lifted.. *

well, our resident sooth-sayer yk has once again missed the mark, as october ends and the world spins on.
but then again, as was the case in 1914, the world may have come crashing down but i failed to notice.
I make a prediction that jehovah's witnesses will continue to point to wars as a sign of the end and will continue to point to declarations of peace as a sign of the end.
That way they can say it's near the end for the next 100 years, during which time, a new world order of peace WILL ensue, man will start to inhabit the moon and mars, there will be no more famine as developing countries become rich, the average working week will go below 20 hours, every household will have robots, brain compatible SIMM cards will be used for education and recreation, cleaner and re-useable fuels will proliferate and religions will completely loose their grip on the masses as has been happening allready.
