New software has been developed by the brothers at the London bethel which heralds a major advancement in computer controlled publishing. It has been described as the biggest step forward in the integration of artificial intelligence and real time content authorship ever to be achieved. The basis for the break through was the merger of two systems which have been in use at Jehovah’s Witnesses printing facilities for some time; the Multi-Lingual Photo-Type Setting System and the CD edition of the Watch Tower Library.
Two huge CRAY computers running neural-net design artificial intelligence engines scan old copies of Watchtowers, Awakes and numerous other Witness literature and re-draft the information into an entirely new and palatable form complete with pictures and various other resources from a UN database. This information is then fed directly into the photo type setting system which translates the copy into multiple languages before down loading it straight onto the press. No human intervention is required from start to finish, eliminating the risk of human error.
A Watchtower official said, “The fact that machines can do what we have employed a large number of people to do for years is a major break-through and can only serve to further our interests in the world-wide kingdom preaching work”.

Positive Name For ExJWs...?
by ISP ini don't like the word apostate.......because it simply is not the case in so many cases.
i think the term 'truthseeker' would be better and quite annoying to jws who think they are!.
come on you truthseekers!.

Demonized? Evil? Mentally Ill?
by teenyuck inrecently i received an e-mail from someone very close to me.
the e-mail was so vile, i stopped reading and called a good friend who is a jw.
the jw knows the writer very well.

A woman who occasionally attended our kh was an "automatic writer". She would put pen to paper and the pen would start to move and she would write (not in her own handwriting) pages and pages of garbage. Demonised? Mentally Ill? Who knows?
Incidently, when modern day speaking in tounges is translated, it is often blasphemy and filth.
I personally think it's not demons nor a true mental illness but an induced neurotic episode. -

Sounds like you've got it sussed. I wish I did it your way, but like many here, it took me 2 years of being out and wondering why I had been disfellowshipped when I was sure I had a clean concience before God before I started to doubt. Good luck with your method. Can this really be kept up, or will you like me, go through anger and much emotion at what is going on?

Can you answer this?(scientific question)
by sleepy inhere is and interesting question which touches on some points raised in other posts.. can things really move?.
if you haven't thought about it before it may seem like a stupid question, but i'll try to explain.. one of the principles of quantum physics is that things do not get infinatly smaller.there is a granuality to objects so at some point things don't get any smaller.. the same holds with energy if you take energy out of a system you can not go on forever .eventually you hit absolute zero were every thing is still.. in the other direction , the speed of light is an absolute limit.. so what happens if you make smaller and smaller movements eventually you would stop.but what is the next smallest movement between being stopped and moving?.
if we put some figures on it it may make it easier.. if to be stoped is 0 and the next possible amonut of movment is 1 you could not move say 1/2 as that is smaller than 1 and if you could keep dividing forever like this you would never reach absolute standstill.. so like the particals in the universe movment has to be granular as well.made up of definate jumps though very tiny.. if this is the case then there is a problem how does one object , if we imagine the smallest to be a quark jump from one place to another is it technicaly the same object or a new one ?.

sleepy, I did say "seemingly" infinate, it was just an analogy.

I thought this was going to be a thread about suicide rates. I expect that they are quite high in the org having known 1 suicide and 2 members who regularly cut their wrists.

An analogy could be the difference between an analogue and digital recording. When you listen to a digital recording, your ear hears a constant stream of sound, however it is granular, made up of distinct increments of 1s and 0s. You cannot play half an increment; it doesnt exist. With the analogue recording, you can play half an increment because it is made up of a long stream of seemingly infinate resolution. This doesnt mean I believe your brand of science, but I hope this answers your question.
