  does anyone here know anything about insurance?.

  i plan to go on cobra for 18 months after i leave work and am in school.. will i have to find fulltime work after that to avoid meeting preexisting conditions wait periods on an individual health plan?

  i have received differing answers.

  Sorry - you said COBRA and health plan - these must be things you have in the US.

  Now - Full time work, yes we Brits generally understand that concept.

  Linguistic Economy? I think you've been reading too much 1984, Quatermass and the Clock-work Orange and came to your own conclusions as to why Americans are justified in spelling improperly. Sorry but that is one hell of a weak argument.

  In 20 years a million will buy you a holiday if you are lucky. Take the money and invest what you have left.
  Shame it's not a million in pounds sterling which is worth quite a bit more. Our "who wants to be a millionaire" is in pounds which means it actually pays more than in the US (unbelieveably).

  first of all i was gaging some of it was just stupid.. then i read some other stuff and thought - god how could i have been taken in?.

  i keep coming back to this over and over, i can't understand how normal thinking human beings as i was can be taken in by these lies and fantasies.

  Then I read some other stuff and thought - GOD HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN TAKEN IN?

  I keep coming back to this over and over, I can't understand how normal thinking human beings as I was can be taken in by these lies and fantasies. I thought I was getting it out of my system, but every now and again, I feel stupid about the fact I believed all that crap and then it turns to anger.

  Your statement as I see it is that this universe is just right for life and therefore must have been designed.

  My argument is that it is just right for OUR type of life and that why OUR type of life evolved.

  You would have no argument if we were in the type of universe which did not support our type of life asking why we were not here and not able to have this conversation.

  Hmmmmmm interesting. What exactly is the link between them and witnesses. WItnesses are mentioned a few times on their site including here:

What would you say to this?

  Answer.—For a long time shallow religionists have used such “proofs.” However, the fact that a religious group can stage a large mass meeting, whether it be the Mohammedans, the “Jehovah’s Witnesses,” the Catholic Holy Name Society, or any other group, does not of itself prove that God’s favor is upon them or that He approves their doctrines.   A test that will determine whether any religious group’s doctrinal interpretations are approved by God is found in our Jan. issue, p. 6, viz., “Every Bible passage or doctrine must be interpreted harmoniously: (1) with itself, (2) with all other Scriptures, (3) with all other Scriptural doctrines, (4) with God’s character, (5) with the Ransom and Sin-Offerings, (6) with the purpose of God’s Plan and (7) with facts.”

  it is a new teaching regarding earthquakes.

  for close to eighty-five years now the core believe of jehovahs witnesses has been the last days teaching that earthquakes have increased in intensity and frequency since 1914. no longer, now it seems it has gone the way of the generation that would not die who were alive in 1914. now we have the great new discovery that there were not more or stronger earthquakes since 1914, almost 40 years after experts and many good men were disfellowshipped for saying otherwise.
