when did you stop believing?

the light faded for me when i was twelve.

i asked my uncle what happened to all the people who couldn't be reached by the "truth" in far off lands, or little kids whose parents didn't believe...ect... "would they still die in armagedon?

" he answered yes, and from there on, whether it was bs or not, i couldn't believe.

I was not baptized and that's what they called me. After being in it my whole life. However, they let you go out in service and preach the good news! Yet, what you preach is not what you believe in? Does not make sense to me. Then with my whole wedding on how they boycotted it because I was not baptized. I was never warned about it either. Elders said: "congrats" "when is the wedding?" But then the Thursday night before my wedding they told everyone not to come because I was an "unbeliever" and I was warned and My husband and I didn't care and we were going to marry anyway.

I did show the elders that it said in the Bible: "They began to believe and then they were baptized" and that it doesn't say they were baptized and then they began to believe....they had no comment!

Why is it that a JW can't say Happy New Year?

new-years eve my husband and i went to my sister's house to bring in the new-year.

my sister knowing much about jws cornered my husband and said " happy new-year don" and he replied" yep it's a 2005".

i have been away from the bs of jwism for a long time and for the life of me i can not remember why it is wrong to celebrate a new year.

Because they know being a Jehovah Witness life sucks and there are no good years. So you can't be happy about it. Oh yeah the time of the end is so near. So maybe there won't be a "new" year!

I think I would love to go ape sh*t!

I would love to sit in the back make rude comments out loud during the meeting. Like after a Talk stand up and go BOOoooo! Then when it was over like right after the prayer....I would love to flip out like in the Movie "Jerry Maguire"!(I know what you are all thinking...like I am just going to FLIP OUT!) Then tell everyone what I think of them!

I am a newbie....

i posted here a couple of months ago when the site had a little different format.

there was an area for newbies with concerns and that's where i lurked.

i have been in the "truth" for about 30 years.

Apostate means "One who leaves Jehovah and his teachings and then tries to have others follow you" something like that.

I don't conider myself as an apostate because I still believe in God(Jehovah) and Jesus! And also I am not trying to have other people join me. Yes, I would love my family too see the light and leave but they have to leave for them. I can't do it!

However I don't believe the cover ups and hiding and lies etc... I am also having a hard time because I have a huge family who is deeply in the JW religion and I have only been inactive 5 or 6 months now. Its really hard and I DO know what you are going through. All I can say is follow your heart. Try not to go and please them by going to the meetings etc.. because God can see that. I don't think he would like you going because of them and not God Himself. Thats what I have learned since being on here. Just follow your heart and I wish the best for you and your husband.

I don't know whats the best way to "Jolt the Thinking Process."

However, acting kindly and telling them as they argue and get mad thats its not very loving or Christan to be spiteful.

So p*****d off - need to offload

i am so angry - i've been a long term lurker here and an occasional poster but i have just got to offload tonight.

mom and i have never been 'in the truth' but my dad and 2 brothers are.

tonight my dad told me that last night he resigned as an elder (which for me personally is great) but the reason is that because both my parents have health issues, especially mom, my dad has been given 6 months to get his act together and put some more hours in field service as he is 'not leading by example'.

It makes me feels great...The only comment I can think of is That the JW's are full of SHIT! And be happy you know that!

Which Ones Got To YOU?

rather than hijacking lostreality's "question" topic, and frannie's post---i began to think of movies that were particularly moving to me...... there have been many throughout the years, but right off the top of my head i'd have to say "imitation of life" (lana turner), "love is a many splendored thing" (william holden), "the way we were" (barbra streisand) and "evergreen" (barbra streisand) that really made me lose it in the theater.. what movies struck *you* the hardest?.

I got a Book! Does anyone remember The Stupids? Maybe I am too young...but I remember my mother could not get me to read or want to read until she got the book "The Stupids"...I still laugh at it!
