him on the last day" (john 6:54) - in a plain reference to those who hoped in the general resurrection.. never mind that jesus is called the "one mediator between god and man" ( 1 tim.2:5).

Intuition..
by Country Girl ini've been reading up on intuition (and that's not what you pay to go to college.. heheh).. i think that all creatures have some sort of mechanism in their bodies that alerts them to possible danger.
i feel that this sense has somehow been desensitized in humans, because we perhaps do not depend on it for our very lives any more, in the case of survival.
however, it probably is still there somewhere deep inside us at some very unconscious level.. whether one can tap into that intuitive energy on sheer will is an unknown for me.

I saw them in their coats hats and briefcases, and intuition told me CONMEN. I said she wasn't in and slammed the door.

New DF/DA Policy?
by new light inwould someone who has the new od book explain any changes in "keeping the congregation clean"?
is it still the same policy or have they actually changed anything?
i'd especially like to know if they are changing their tune on the "inactive".

Note that in the release talk it was explained VERBALLY that after the "no longer JW announcement" so and so is to be treated as DF or DA. ( Was a copy of the release announcement to be put on the notice board - I bet not, which would back up my following hunch):
The Bulgaria compromise said that no announcement of DA or DF would be made regarding those who took blood or the four "primary blood components" as defined by the old farmboys of NY Bethel. If they are taken to the European court they can say: "DF? DA? What??? We didn't disfellowship him for taking blood..."
Thus as ever they can honor the letter of the ruling, but not the spirit.

They just DO NOT think!!!
by Jez induring talks, the audience just don't think.
the speaker can shoot off some stat, a comment, but "where is the evidence for what you just said?".
the speaker can give a really great story about how a drug addict became a jw, how it saved his life, but do they think: "yes, that is one neg example in the world, but what about the positive examples?

Memorial Invitation
by startingover injust got a visit from 2 old friends.
we talked about fun things we'd been doing lately and then they told me the reason they stopped by was to invite me to the memorial.
i was completely silent and non-committal.

The current light is that Jesus "arrives" in different ways at different times with respect to his kingship.
He arrived in Kingdom power in 1874, no, 1881 (doh - thats when the door was closed) no, 1914.
He arrived to judge the sheep an goats in 1914, no 1919, no he hasn't yet - but the due time has approached (Luke 21:8)
He will arrive to destroy us sometime soon, very soon, sooner than you think.
And we'll all see him according to the new kids' book. (Though they proved that wouldn't happen years ago....) Ho Hum.

Thinking back
by purplesofa inmy bookstudy was at an elders house that lived a bit out of the city.
a small road with only his house and another.
the other house was the first you passed.....unsightly....trashed cars.......broken down bicycles............not trashy, but not like the bit of paradise at the elder house.. i remember the elder telling us how the man had become ill and lost his job working for the waterworks department, a city job, with little wages.

I remember sitting in the BS, and it was the section on Love among yourselves in the old united book. A knock on the door: It was s.o. collecting for an african children's charity. Our christian brother told her that we are Jehovah's witnesses and are studying the bible so please go.
Got me thinking, especially when everyone laughed.

Why the Anointed Remnant is On Life Support

how absolutely critical the "anointed remnant" is to the credibility of jw doctrine.even within the ranks there is a passive humour about the increase of 5 memorial partakers between 2003-4. in 1994 the number was 8617.
10 years later the number was 8570, a mere drop of 47 (about 1/2 of 1%).

In John 6, Christ said that unless we eat his flesh and drink his blood we won't have everlasting life. The WTS applies verse 54 to the earthly class. ( See their interpretation of John 11:24 'last day')
Since this was stated before the inauguration of the memorial it applies to the earthly class. John wrote so late in life the doctrines should have been settled upon, yet he does not say "except for the earthly class."
In fact, if the angel in Revelation 7 meant the great crowd was an earthly class, the early church would have understood it that way because it was taught by Paul.
Otherwise Galatians 1:8,9 applies and the WTS is accursed along with Freddie, Joey, and Nate. (Russel didn't teach it-the others were the 'postos)

as i read many posts there seems to be many that "closet" read and it isnt till many months or even years that they actually post something.
was just wondering how long it took other people to post and did they feel guilty?.

I had lurked a long time.
Anger rage and frustration at what the WT did to my life moved me.
I wanted to vomit. I wanted to sob with frustration and disappointment. I was terrified my JW relatives would find out and reject me. I felt utter disappointment that all the thing I had drummed into me were just chaff in the winds of WTS change.
The WT should be called "I Ching" Book of changes. that's the only thing you can be sure of with that religion.
HB of the closet aposto class (for family reasons)... That in itself says much about them don't it?
