I came across a book in the Egyptology section called "The Wisdom of Egypt" and there was such a huge number of verses from Proverbs there (which book it pre dated) that I started to see that the Jews stole vast tracts of religious literature and ascribed it to their own tribal sky god.
Ditto with the creation story, the flood, confusion of languages, why rams were to be sacrificed rather than first born sons, not eating shell fish, uncleanness of women etc.

i just got home from a dub "party".
it was very tame, seemed to be choreographed, and i was just shocked.. for one thing, everyone there was my age or older.
these people are young adults.. yet, it felt like the jr. high dance.

you are spot on with JW males.So many are like girls in their overgentlised manner and they have no courageous robustness.
What i hate is the hobby horse in the mags where they trot out the names of a minority who died without blood or rejected worldliness when the majority are raging hypocrites.
I remember a JW party where two sisters got so drunk they stripped off their clothes and danced for the goggle eyed young brothers.
Needless to say very little was done, though I regret to say I was such a young Wonder Brother (sing to Wonder Woman) I left as soon as I realised things were getting out of hand. Of course young JW are so used to being monitored and controlled that when the leash is off they have no idea how to control themselves or behave like adults.

Yes there is an article in the magazines where women and their sex urges are equated with those of cows on heat.
Whether one shaves down under of course is no one's business unless you consent to make it so. But the coersive discussion on vasectomies in the congo indicates that one should worry about what others may be told to think by the WBTS.

for those of yall that didn't know, kristi was a 37-yr-old ms patient that i took care of for the last year of her life.
she had a wonderful ribald sense of humor and talked like a sailor at times.
but it was all to cover up the ultra-sweet and tender heart she had.

ive been thinking about what it is that has made the governing body of jehovahs witnesses so callous to the needs of the people they claim to serve.
at first, i thought that it was because of their power.
they seem to wield a great deal of power in peoples lives.. to test this theory, i tried to find examples of arrogant, powerful men in world history.
I have long thought that the GB is starting to think along the "master delaying" line.
That is why they are getting themselves ready to move to lovely retirement homes/hospices in New Jersey.
Their dreams have turned to S H 1 T in front of their eyes, and since they believe in no afterlife, they want to end their days as pleasantly as possible.
Not to be forgotten is that these men have access to the locked library at Crooklyn Brothel - that prolly would shatter anyones faith.
Vaccinations were wrong until NH Knorr wanted to do a world tour visiting all the nations where the WTBS was active. I reckon that when he heard his chances of coming back from the third world healthy or even alive was when he moved for change of the vaccination policy.
Same with marriage. An old bible student sister from the 20s told me when I was 15 that it was all "don't get married Armageddon soon" until Knorr wanted to ... and got married. Then they went silent. Isn't it funny that after he got married Knorr started his great campaign against "self abuse" - he must have been remembering with great self righteous mortification his own romance with his hand pre-marriage.
Yes I am familiar with the "Enlightened Despot" philosophy and it did work. Unfortunately the WTBS are merely despots.

Know what you mean about the freakin' Witlesses nowadays. I feel it is a totally different religion from when I was a kid (who would never leave school by the way - 40 years ago and countin)
Now if a dub sees a "weak" or "halfhearted one" in the street they either pass by with a mealy mouthed smile, or cross over the street.
The measure of the maturity of the religion and those in it - to me - is how able they are to laugh at themselves.
JW not even self aware yet.
The Catholics have such a highly developed sense of fun that I think their faith is all growed up.
