who wants to be second best?

jw's belive that one day that they'll live in paradise, which is fine.. but how can the belive that they are saved?

the fact is they don't.

i concider being saved as a wonderful gift from god, that one day i'll see him and spend eternity with him, and 'with him' i would concider to be in 'heaven' with him.. the gospel is, that god loves you, jesus died for you so he could forgive your sins and that all man is equal in his eyes, and jw's stand firmly on that belief.and then they believe that at the end, 144 thousand shall go to heaven (which i think is the highest place, where god has his throne, and where he rules from, basically the best) and that the other belivers will stay on earth in paradise.. don't you think that,that's awful, how could all those belivers be satistfied with that?

I think your beginning to see the cracks in the 'foundation' of JWism, but to me that's a big one. Salvation isn't earnt, and why do JWs want second best?
Because they want things they've seen and try to 'earn' it, like going to work, as in a trade (buy and sell). When some lose in the trade, like Esau and Judas, they may repent with tears, but it's over loss, they still didn't get it. Likewise, the WT society simply doesn't understand what God was even saying - it's uncomfortable to them, to pride (taxcollectors & prostitutes are past that), preferring the idea of earning what they want - a paradise on earth. But in effect they are simply saying "give us what we know" or rather "I have enough". (just remove these other 'lazy' people who don't labour for goodness as we do).

This is being the blasphemer, as Paul - that God requires us to trade with Him. It's speaks wickedly of Him, and that's why there isn't forgiveness where it's not wanted, for those whose inner self is saying they don't want a free love, but rather a trade. Grace is not for sale. When one tries to earn it, the demons simply come back and multiply, so inside duress sets in and no becomes yes and yes, no.
JWism is phariseeism.

Regarding heaven, a pair of twins was going to be born and one baby said to the other, how do you know that babies are born ? Have you ever seen it, been there, has anyone come back ? How do you even know you have a mother ? Have you seen her ? What will happen to you if your born ? I don't want to go, I don't trust what will happen.
But in reality it is "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared ...."

The JW paradise on earth invention is like a holiday add, without Adventure, glossies all read and 'understood'.

Were the Gospel Writers Really Eyewitnesses?

in defense of the inerrancy of the bible, many believers make the assertion that the gospel writers wrote about what they witnessed firsthand.

let's consider the case of the gospel called "mark.

" the writer of those jesus stories does not tell us he walked and talked with jesus, or that he witnessed any of the events he described, so why should we not believe that he was only reporting what someone else said happened, or perhaps what he thought should have happened to fulfill scripture?.

Rather than seek the etymology of language, the WT society continually places themselves in the hands of human knowledge and tradition. "The encyclopedia Britania states" etc. Such understanding goes with the flow, with the 'current', and even waves, of man.

It makes it easy to tell a lie when one of the words is a lie.

Location of Ophir?

ophir has been located in various places, i believe i may have worked out where.. i understand that peacocks and silver come from ophir which was a port.. the watchtower quotes from the catholic encylopaedia saying that ophir was in zimbabwe!.

it obviously isn't because zimbabwe is not by the coast so can't be a port!.

i humbly suggest the watchtower reads the bible and apply some commonsense!.

Mindfield - What is god - Jan 13

i was just going back through some of the older recent material to see what i may have missed and i came across this question - what is god?.

better late than never i suppose.. i no longer believe in god as a seperate entity but believe in a life force that is within each of us and everything else on this planet and also the planet itself.. that got me to thinking about the origin of life also as he is said to have created us but as i dont believe in him where did we come from.. in my search i came across this site - http://www.spiritweb.org - which has a section on channellings.

the channellers name is john payne and if you scroll thru his stuff to his seminar called manifesting with joy (you'll need real player) and have a listen to the thing, then to the question time at the end it is quite interesting and thought provoking.

Goodness.
Emmanuel - God with us, that's how He is called. We can call upon His name and be saved, as do those in many religions / beliefs - God who is in us, and in our midst. What de-scription do we require ?

When He removed the power of demons (what troubled people), He would ask "what is your name?", and the demons became de-scribed - taken away from the label - truly named, not 'just figured' by us, an image of our justice. When the WT society speaks by their own author-ity and says 'demon', it's only a label, an unknown name, scribed (even pre-scribed) by them .
The true Author-ity is His, holy scripture, good food to chew on, but goats will continue to take that food from the sheep before they get to it - they had sufficient, for kindness etc.

Anyway, 'life force' doesn't really do it for me. Sounds like 'what' rather than who. But hey, maybe it works for some.

In the 'house' we may find Jesus and Mary. Jesus who is Emmanuel, the child of God who is worshipped because we worship the Father, and Mary - those who give birth to God are also dear to us, our welcome brethren.
"And entering the house they found the child with Mary His mother".

'You know', whenever the angel came with good news, the first thing would be "don't be afraid" (apparently 365 times in the bible), yet many come and say "be afraid". Strangely, in their heart of hearts they can seem unsure, the 'yes is no' or 'no is yes' - it comes from the evil one or not the good part of them.

Don't be afraid of Him, fear Him and get into it, live in Creativity, don't hide that 'talent'.

i read this atricle recently that sums up rather nicely why the watchtower stance on blood transfusions is innaccurate and deadly.. please read this for information before taking your position on the issue & i would welcome any comments:.

So you ignore the part about "As for any
soul that eats a body (already) dead ,,,"

As for applying scripture to the physical - Absolutely, ignore it every time. If I'm hungry enough give me a feed of corpse, especially if it was frozen.

As for behaving and becoming like (eating) someone who is spiritually dead - No way - in other words, I won't be going along with JW type of physical application of spiritual teaching - now or ever. Some traditional ceremony and observances for the purpose of commemoration of such things is cool though.

You abstain your way

Naturally - we do still grieve over the 'dead' though, but we don't "eat" them.

New Light On Blood

in order for meat to be blood free, as the jews and the early christians would have understood it, one has to cut the neck of the animal and let its heart pump the blood out.

not hit it over the head like they do in the slaughterhouses today.

also you have to remove the veins and arteries starting at the neck working down.
