Would you shame someone for going back to the Witnesses?
by free2beme ini was thinking about this, as i have a former witness friend who is showing signs of wanting to go back, even though they have expressed over the years a lot of frustration and lack of belief for the faith.
as much as i find their decision to be a mistake, i do understand why.
after all, unlike myself and family, i have never been shunned by the few family members left in and i moved on over the last decade to build new friendships and hobbies.

I would read Prov.26:11 for them, but still offer to be friends.

In fact, my first recollection of assemblies was when my mother was 8 months pregnant with me and all I could hear was a muffled echo of the big speakers blasting at Yankee Stadium.
lol it really doesn't change much when your outside of the womb and older.
Me - razed in it.
Statistics on this would be interesting.

Third,
I makes me wonder...are most new JWs born into it...or brought into it...
Cate
Its got to be 90 % or more that are born into it.
What a waste of time all that field service.
Would be an interesting statistic to know.

I do not want to start celebrating Jewish Holidays, but since I faded I have celebrated christmas and I thought saying that I was celebrating Hannukah would have been a good excuse not to be df'ed.
They might not like the excuse but at least they can't df you for it.
I also wondered about saying, I'm not celebraing it but my son is, he's fifteen.
Thanks for the input .

Anger over disfellowshipping
by jambon1 ini have now spoken with a couple of worldly people regarding the practise of disfellowshipping.
having been out of the org for a few months i now feel confident enough to expose the things that i knew were wrong.
d/f was one of the biggest issues i had.

My wife and I have told all our co-workers about the JW,s they won't be gettin any of those people !
One co-worker in particular just couldn't believe that anyone would ever shun their own family just because a religon told them so, it took me awhile just to convince him that I wasn't making it up.

can it really be a translation ?
Or, is it a transliteration
I always thought there was no such thing as a true translation of the bible, because of the impossibilty of translating Hebrew into other languages 100 percent accurately.
That's why all other bibles are called versions. I think the WTBS are the only people haughty enough to call there bible a translation.

Newbie question; Why do JW hypocrites PROVE that they're a cult?

i've been studying with jehovah's witnesses for 4 years and quite frankly love it.
a bit of background, i am a college educated young man (have a bs in psychology) and am currently a medical student.

The fact that lives have been affected is understandable.
To what point?
After your dead because of blood doctrines, oh well nobodys perfect they tried there best to interpret scriptures .
