  I woke up to my JW mom reading JW literature to my stomach

  i know that sounds weird.

  i am pregnant with my first child and my mom is visiting me for a few days.

  i was laying on the couch taking a nap and she was sitting down and reading to my stomach.

  Ask your mom if she read to her belly when she was pregnant with you.
  If she says yes tell her it didn't work on me knock it off.
  If she says no tell her that's why I am the way I am.
  Actually, just tell her stay away from my gut or I'll give you five across your lips.

  we always seem to get focused on the bad - and there is plenty of it for sure - and anyone who follows my posts knows i am no wt apologist by any stretch.

  but focusing on the postive is a good thing in the 'moving on' process i think too.

  what do you think jw's had right?.

  Ignorance is bliss

  Seeing my parents and other older ones who live their lives out never having a thought about dieing except for maybe their last couple of years.

  Why not use the animals for food or whatever seems to be a waste to just bury them if and when they would die.

  How many of you still have friends in the org?

  a good friend of mine moved away 10 years ago.

  needless to say, we lost touch over the years, but our family always spoke of them warmly and with with great affection.. last week, their daughter looked my son up on my-space and we reconnected.

  they've left the organization, basically got fed up with the hypocrasy of the membership.

  many will ask, why in the hell would you ever do that?

  well, developments going on in my world have led me to this decision.

  I cannot beleive i am an " apostate"

  my hell is just beginning, 26 years of marriage, almost divorced last year until we finally decided to get back and give it another try this year.

  now i'll have to meet with the elders and tell them about my spirituality and doubts about the wts, 1914, 1995 generation change,malawy/mexico,and on and on and my wife will be there.

  i do feel sorry for my wife because she has already lost 13 members of her family, "apostasy" and some just left the truth and even though some are not disfellowshipped she won't talk to them, now her husband, is going thru the same thing, she cannot accept it because out of 31 y. in the truth i was an elder and how could that happen.

  If you love your wife do what ever it takes to save your marriage.

  Maybe the elders don't deserve to know the truth about your feelings (theocratic warfare). I would take it very slow and try to win your wife back with subtle points about the WTBS this might take a while.

  Take care of yourself and your marriage no one else will, especially not the elders.

  At the meeting play dumb, obfuscate, procrastinate, say your weak, stonewall. Who cares what they think!!!!!!!

  thought i'd share (be sure to check out the last paragraph, which is the guy's "take" on the jw message.

  i didn't actually speak to them, because i was still in bed, but their presence certainly sent my dog barking like crazy.

  Why doesn't Jehovah end the experiment right now or better yet back in 1914? The world is spiraling down and will only get worse according to the witnesses.

  The experiment is then over. Right?

  Is Jehovah curious to see how bad he can let things get?

  Oh yeah, I forgot he's waiting for people to convert to the watchtower.

  Sounds like a never ending thing.

  does anyone remember how the witnesses used to ridicule christendom for saying "god bless you"?.

  now "jehovah bless you" seems to be a catch phrase on witness e-mails and in conversation.. i wonder if their critisism of saying "god bless you" is in print somewhere?

  welcome to the forum

  Witnesses don't follow the teachings of the Golden age and haven't for many years. There are many that don't even know the publications exist. Why are you indulging in the past?

  I don't know how old you are or how long you have been a JW but, you might hear these same words from younger ones or not yet born ones as you get older.
