  the primary role of the holy grail in christian mythology is the cup used by jesus to inaugurate the communion celebration during the last supper.

  other stories say that the holy grail was a cup used by joseph of arimathea to catch jesus' blood when he was pierced by a spear during the crucifixion.

  often, it's the same cup in both situations.

  jws take a great deal of pride in the fact that they follow jesus' command at matt.

  go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit,teaching them to observe all the things i have commanded you.

  i am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.. .

  There's a scripture where the GB limits its application

  to the 144,000, because Jesus was talking to his close disciples.

  I can't remember what it was right now.

  Why don't they do that here?

  Also how does Jesus come back to us in 1914 if he was with us always?

  i'm losing my job at the end of this month.

  because of the financial situation in the world, there's a hiring freeze on both internally and externally and hardly any positions are coming up.

  i admire the jw's who seem to be not too affected by what the society teaches.

  for instance; my brother became a jw when he met his wife, who was born into the wts.

  his wife and her family, always seemed to be very gregarious people, and enjoy life very much.

  Wasanelder I know exactly what you mean. Our hall had some very, very wealthy elders, they didn't do shit when it came

  to pioneering or other unsavory JW activities.

  Basicly I think your brother is a hypocrite and you were not.

  I was a hypocrite and then decided I didn't want to be one.

  Lots of JW's float along.To them it's just a social club.

  They don't understand how you can be happy as a non JW. (misery loves company)

  It irritates- confuses them that you know what it's all about and still have left.

  More numbers in congregation.

  They are scared of blood guilt of not getting you back.(lose carrot of eternal life)

  What if regular meeting attendance wasn't a requirement?

  we all know how regular meeting attendance is the ultimate way of measuring the "faith" of those among the religion, other than field service reports.

  what do you think would happen with the attendance numbers if you were only encouraged to go as a sort of option, if you weren't hounded for not attending regularly?

  Media Exposure of JW's- Oprah?

  since we are unable to bring forth a class-action law suit against the watchtower society due to laws in place that protect religion, has anyone thought about or tried to expose the jw's in the media?

  people need to be aware this is not a loving group of people as they want to be perceived.

  everything i read recently placed alot of blame on jw"s who have left since it is their fault they joined in the first place.
