a book that i'm reading (j. alberto soggin, "israel in the biblical period.

institutions, festivals, ceremonies, rituals", 2001), talking about the jerusalem temple, states that "certain authors have seen in the dates of the beginning and of the end of the construction works elements of the yearly cicle of the cananean ba'al", but no bibliographic reference is given supporting the statement.what does he refer to?

can someone point me to sources of information on this matter?thanks a lot.look forward to your replies.

NWT translation of Daniel 1:2 and 607

do you know why the nwt starts verse 2 of daniel ch.

1 with the words "in time..." which are not in the original hebrew text nor in any of the english translations i checked?.

has it to do with supporting their 607 b.c.e.

New light re: baptism?

i heard rumors that "new light" is coming re: baptism.. it seems that those who got baptised without inner conviction or real dedication and / or cooled off afterwards, could get re-baptised.. anyone else heard something similar?.

in my country a few years ago there was the (unwritten) rule that skirts long to the shoes were not ok for sisters.

unfortunately in brooklyn it seems that nobody knew about this, so once, much to the embarassment of the local branch that was upholding the rule, a wt issue came up that had on one page a pic of a sister preaching who wore just that kind of skirt; and on another page a pic of a witness party with a sister sitting on a sofa whose skirt covered her shoes.

result?
