"Tobacco is the Devil?s weed employed for the purpose of demoralizing human creatures..."
Well that seems like an apt observation from the Devil's organization employed for the purpose of demoralizing human creatures. I guess it takes one to know one.

Problem recieving Watchtower & Awake "again"
by Dolllie ini posted earlier in the summer about some "racist" witnesses who told me that i could not recieve the watchtower & awake magazines, or attend the kingdom hall, because i was black & blacks were not able to understand the bible, "it was not for them".. i wrote a letter to the watchtower society & got a response!.
i moved out of that immediate area, a couple of towns(about 40 minutes away).
i contacted the watchtower society after moving here to have someone bring me the watchtower & awake.

Dolllie,
You mentioned that you're about an hour outside of New York, so that would put you around Stamford (?). I'm in Connecticut, too, so I'm just curious about where this sort of thing might happen.
Thanks,
Margie

Brain surgeon or easy bake oven chef?
by seven006 inwhich one are you more qualified to be?.
mnimus is out of town on business, i'm just filling in for him while i wait for my jeans to finish drying in the dryer.
while i type this (jeanless), my butt cheeks seem to keep sticking to my black leather office chair.

Dave,
Certainly the brain has blood. As for the guts, I'm guessing that one would encounter guts in medical school before becoming a brain surgeon. Like you, I'm not a brain surgeon, so the preceeding guess is exactly that. Although, now that I'm thinking about it, cooking does involve both blood and guts from time to time. Ew, maybe I should just stick with frozen dinners.
As for my boyfriend, he is a ludite and hates technology, including cordless phones. Yet, he also hates spending money, so he refuses to buy a corded phone when we already have plenty (two, to be exact) of functional cordless phones. Plus, I think he just likes to complain. About the jeans, he thinks I have too many clothes in general. Also, he'd like to see me naked more...or so he claims.
I hope your damp jeans soothed your, um, office seat chair. I would imagine there are few things more painful than a burn on an...office seat chair.
Regards,
Margie

Hi Blues,
I just came across this thread today and I hope answering it at this late date isn't a problem. Anyhow, I had ideopathic epilepsy as a child and had petit mal seizures. I was on phenobarbitol from age 8 until age 13. Fortunately, the seizures stopped once I was medicated and I "grew out" of the condition. I understand that the form of epilepsy I had is treated with different medication today and that those treated the with phenobarbitol went on to develop psychological problems (of which I have plenty) at a higher rate than the general population. LOL, draw your own conclusions.
Anyway, I hope that you are doing well now. More is being learned all the time about the treatment of epilepsy.
Yours,
Margie

I smoke, but I have many pairs of jeans and only cordless phones -- both to the chagrin of my boyfriend.
I'll go with Easy Bake Oven chef for two reasons. First, I'm starting to think about what to cook for dinner. Second, I have a weak stomach when it comes to blood and guts.

Where did this happen? I ask because I know a woman who was a prosecutor in New York City in the late 70's and, apparently, there was so much crime in the city then that the police and prosecutors couldn't keep up with all of it. Reportedly, the joke around the prosecutor's office was that everyone in the city was allowed one free murder. If this happened in a city with a similar situation, it may have been that in the absence of a sympathetic victim and/or an easily prosecutable case, the DA decided not to pursue the prosecution against your mom.
In any case, I'm sorry about your losses, too.
(edited for clarification.)
