  last night we woke to the rumbles of canons firing on camp pendelton and could see the flames of the grass fire they start.

"i don't believe that the marines involved would have ever used any type of symbol associated the nazi germany military criminal organization that committed mass atrocities in wwii," chapin said.

  the corps has used the incident as a training tool to talk to troops about what symbols are acceptable after it became aware of the photograph last november, chapin said.. the image has since surfaced on an internet blog, sparking widespread outrage and calls for a full investigation and punishment, including bringing those in the photograph and anyone who condoned it to court martial.. "this is a complete and total outrage," said mikey weinstein of the military religious freedom foundation, headquartered in albuquerque, n.m.. his organization sent a letter to the head of the marine corps, gen. james amos, and defense secretary leon panetta on thursday, demanding punishment for those involved.. it was the second time this year the marine corps has had to do damage control for actions of its troops.

  Is my marriage worth saving?

  long story - will make it short - i was a jw for 4 years.

  hy husband took to it straigt away and has been a jw for 20 years - we were both converted by one of his workmates.

  our 4 kids were all baptised jws and thankfully 3 escaped (2 disfellowshipped, one fading) - so my eldest son is still in with his dad.

  If you are on here asking one part of my mind says no - once you have to ask anonymous strangers maybe youve crossed a marker and its just a hard road to recognising it.

  Purely from a practical pov - what are your real chances of a happy relationship outside your current one? If its low then stay and fight for what you have. If its high cut the ties and go.

  If there is ever violence leave. If there are kids stay until you are all ready to go (if ever). If there is wealth consider your post marriage circumstances. If there is even a smidgen of true love - fan the fire and see if it'll come back. If there are only burnt embers walk on and enjoy what once was and go build a new one with someone else.

  Never listen to online advice from strangers who have no investment in your situation ;)

  The reality is simpler. Would we have traded in shares if we had insider knowledge and it would earn us a fortune (and there was very little chance of getting caught)? I suspect we all would. This isn't about politicians its about human nature. Why we treat our politicians as if they should be saints is beyond me. The assumption is first and foremost that everyone will follow their evolutionary won skills and maximise their own position. Once we get over the outraged morality we can then simply assume everyone will do it , forget such criminal enabling concepts as honour and trust and simply put in place clean, strict rules to govern all people (for example - in public office you are not allowed to own shares and must put them all in trust to be returned once you leave office.)

  this has been an interesting science project to say the least.

  here is what i have learned:.

  you have about 6 types of people posting on jwn, they all fit into a profile.. #1 you have people like me that ran the race, exemplified conduct while in the jw cult and learned through observation that there was a severe disconnect between truth, and the jw cult's statements.

  this saying permeates this forum with higher frequency than most.

  despite being an open atheist amongst lots of religious people in my life, i have never been accused of doing this and i have never heard this saying attributed to my choice... appart from here.. i thought it would be best to clarify why i (and i assume others) decided to leave the bible behind after leaving the wt society.. realising the wt society was wrong desroyed my world, for me it meant so much.

  i had given so much to it too, it just had to be true!

  I just got the impression that tec was against an organisation led by a man which seems to be the very essence of the christian message, god (male?) , expressed via Jesus (man?) instituting an organisation (kingdom of god) into which we all fit like body parts and have different roles. Denying the organisational aspects of the NT seems to negate all of 'Paul's' teachings and to invalidate the entire OT priesthood / temple structure. Seems like the desire to clarify the relationship as soley through Jesus with no other mediators is to negate god's supposed use of prophets, angels and rigid organisational structure to impart knowledge and sacraments and ....to throw out the baby with the bathwater and end up a lone mystic making it up as they see fit. Which is how this mess presumably started in the first place.
